Will this product work inside a house?

Asked by: Terri
The Bird-X Yard Gard is intended for outdoor use directed away from the house and pets, however, on Page 2 of the Instruction Manual, paragraph VIII PRECAUTIONS, it indicates the Yard Gard may be used indoors "in a rarely occupied attic or basement...." People and pets should not be exposed to the device for prolonged periods, but PESTS in the attic and basement are fair targets.

Asked by: Wes
Yes, you will need to plug into wall outlet to have the unit be in continuous mode. Bats arrive at dawn and leave at dusk......my problem, which was fixed.

Picked up the Yard Gard at Home Depot on last April 17, 2018 and installed the device on the next day few inches above the ground with wooden enclosure (see pic below). It did really works specially for the neighbor's and other dogs, cat and squirrel that came in the yard and along the street. But unfortunately on April 21 the thief took the Yard Gard around 5:44AM according to the security video info. The incident was already reported to the police and still under investigation. I wish I could add a photo to win a $1000 and purchase 2 more Yard Gard. The picture below shown the empty Yard Gard box, Wooden enclosure and the transformer with broken power cord. The device was very easy and simple to setup. Could be better if GPS technology can be added in the device to track down the thief if stolen.

So far, it seems to be keeping the deer away from the Agapanthus in the front yard. The one I have in the backyard aimed at the base of the peach tree seems to be keeping the squirrels away from that area. I made the mistake of planting the tree too close to a fenced corner, so squirrels can jump from the fence into the tree. Previously, I used netting -- very aggravating. I just ordered another Yard Gard to aim at the fence top because the cone of deterrence is along a horizontal plane, not horizontal AND vertical. I'll know more about the overall effectiveness later in the year.

Works great as long as the device is directed exactly towards the problem space. I placed it under the eave of the roof and pointed it right to the area where they have been trying to do their business. Very persistent. The things never give up and know when it needs to have the batteries replaced. In general it works great. When they do try they are so nervous they are not leaving any scat so I can live with that. I haven't seen any sign of them for a couple of months so I am fairly happy about that.

Over the last 4 or 5 years we have had a problem with bats nesting under the overlap of our siding in our outside entry way. They make such a terrible mess and I have had it with having to sweep up the droppings every morning. After consulting with a contractor, his suggestion was to hire someone to caulk each and every siding board in our 20 foot tall entry. I decided before resorting to that expense, I would give the Ultrasonic Yard Guard Pest Repeller a try, even though the reviews were mixed. I purchased and received the machine this spring before the normal time the bats become active. We plugged it in and set it on a small table in the entry. Every morning I check outside and do a happy dance. So far, it is working great. We have had a few droppings, but they may just be falling from last years nests. While it may be too early to be sure, after a month, we see no evidence that the bats have returned. If you are dealing with this kind of problem, I would recommend you give it a try.

I am however not sure this was satisfactorily accomplished since I still see evident of their presence. In fact I saw a dog walk right pass the unit on my back Patio although a visitor to my house hear it.
