Poor Quality Product
I bought this product a few years ago; however, I had issues with the power cord. I replaced the power cord and continued to have issues with the product, making it nonoperational. A few years later, I found another one significantly marked down and decided to give it a second try because it did keep mosquitos down in the yard, when it worked. The second one also stopped working after 2 years. For the 4 months a year that I used this product, I certainly expect it to last longer. The product was fairly protected from the rain; however, had no longevity. I would not recommend this product because neither worked after 2 years. For that reason it is a waste of money! Now I have 2 of them sitting in my garage.

Works great and looks good. Once you plug it in, you will see a difference in your mosquito population within days.

Mosquito Trap Works Well on Back Deck
We live on a 1/3 acre property and, after a recommendation, purchased one of these for our back deck. Now we are still early in mosquito season here with the worst yet to come, but it has worked really well thus far in terms of keeping the number of Mossies down. I recommend this product!

    Don't buy it
I set it up at my back yard two days ago. I did not see any mosquito was attracted to the equipment and only two or three mosquito was trapped with two or three other bugs. Absolutely a waste of money. I am going to return it tomorrow.

      Not worth one cent!
Will catch some very small bugs but have not seen any decrease in mosquitos at all.

        Unbelievable the difference it makes!
We use this on our back patio and have a large yard and creek in back. We are not bothered at all by mosquitos. In our front yard we do not have one yet and notice the mosquitos. Because we have 8 acres it certainly doesnot cover this whole area. But I think it probably does a better than 1/2 acre area in backyard.

        Cheap product, Stops working
The product worked great for about 2 months. And it does trap mosquitoes ONLY if you have a fresh attractant stick. But it also catches a lot of moths and beetles, espeically without the bait stick. After 2 months the fan stopped working, which is what sucks in the bugs. So now its basically a paper weight.

        Not Convinced
I bought this unit on sale around mid-summer 2011. It caught bugs but, from what I could tell, very few of them were actually mosquitoes. At the end of the season I put it in my garage. I brought it out in June of 2012 and purchased more attractant. However, it soon became obvious that the sensor was no longer working. I decided to see if I could repair it as it still ran in full manual mode. I opened up the top. The circuit board was totally corroded and the wires to the resistors had corroded through. It spent last summer in a corner of my yard, relatively safe from water, other than rain. What is the point of using it outdoors if it cannot withstand some humidity? I regret this purchase. Fortunately, I used a promo gift card from Home Depot.

        good so far
It's been running for two weeks. A good amount of bugs being caught. Too soon to tell if mosquito population has lessened. One negative thing is the power cord is short. Obviously this unit is going to be placed some distance from the nearest outlet, why not provide a decent amount of cord?

I purchased the unit about a month ago and have had it running ever since. We have an over abundance of mosquitoes at our house due to a pool, pond and bush. So far the results are impressive - minimal bites compared to prior years. The unit is capturing an amazing number of mosquitoes.

          good product
this trap definitely works. easy to say because the dead mosquitos are right there in the basket. can't recommend it though, because the light sensor which is supposed to turn the unit off during daylight hours stopped working after six weeks.

This product was definately a good investment...only wish I had ordered it earlier in the year as it does take a few weeks to get through all the larva that was laid. I'll be putting it out early next April, just to be sure and get them all early!!! Two thumbs up!!!!

Great product. Works all the time unlike the mosquito magnet
This is the 3rd one I bought. When you empty the trap you get a good idea how well it works. The great thing about it is that it works all the time. Down side it is hard to find the attractant locally.

            Wonderful Invention
We were beseiged by mosquitos to the point where I couldn't walk 50 feet to the car in the morning without having to fight them off. Within 1 month the population was reduced bu 80 -90 %. The Octenol cartridges aren't cheap and only last 3 weeks ,but if you reduce the population by letting the unit run 24 hours a day you can probably get through a season with 3 - 4 cartridges.

              Design Flaw
this contraption did a great job of attracting the mosquitoes to it, but the inadequate vacuum failed to trap them. We ran this thing for 30 days and it did not catch one mosquito and our back yard is a haven for them. The vacuum is powered by what looks like a tiny plastic cpu fan that barely had any power. Terrible product!!!!!! Absolutely terrible

                Mosquito Trap
I bought one last year and had great luck with it all year. I bought a second one this year because the 2 houses adjacent to mine are empty and both have artificial ponds that are not being cared for. I think the trap did a great job. I convinced one neighbor to buy one and he is also taking large amounts of mosquitoes out of his trap. I tried the Mosquito Magnet 300.00 unit 3 years ago and it was great when it worked and it didn't work often. For 99.00 this is one great mosquito trap.

                No mosquitos!!!
This thing is amazing! You have to put it out early, like in April ideally - I bought one and put it out May 5, and there were no mosquitos in my yard all summer. I could do yard work until the sun went completely down, relax on the deck, no pesky skeeters - and the last two summers were very bad here - I'm in Milton backing on a large wild green space with a creek. My next door neighbours also noticed that there were no mosquitos in their yards either. In late August my neighbour said they saw a few, possibly because my unit had shut off for a few days and I didn't notice. Anyway, I DID NOT GET ONE BITE all summer long :D :D :D :D :D I am getting my sister one for Christmas. PS If your unit has shut off, it's likely because the wind has shaken the capture basket loose, just tighten that up with one hand and it will go again. I learned this from Koolatron's customer service tel. #, they were very helpful.

                  do not buy it
it just did not work. after read the previous review, decided to give it a try. after a week of use (both indoor and on the deck), failed to notice any decrease in mosquito bite and did not see many mosquito trapped in the trap as well. returned it to homedepot. do not wast your money on it.
