Previously purchased bags were heavier, in a positive way contents wet and harder to spread with very little trash.
My recent purchase were light, dry and just fell out the bags. The bags contained mostly filler sticks, mulch etc. I used what was represented as manure to fill holes in yard and as a topcoat for the grass. After a good rain and the trash rose to the top my yard looked like I had intentionally spread mulch across the grass.
I ended up having to rake the trash out of my yard and start all over again. Very disappointed.

Not Manure
Big bags of twigs, dirt, and debris. As far as I can tell, none of the bags contained manure unlike in previous years. I had to sift out small branches, stones, and even bits of rubber and a small piece of glass. Unbelievable.

Good Compost Manure Soil for Plants
Have bought this product several times and has helped my plants to grow beautifully.

Literal trash.
1) Composted Cow manure is not supposed to have a smell.
1a) The odor of this smells like waste. Not manure or even compost.
2) I found glass, lots of sea shells, plastic bag pieces, stained wood. Like Window trim stained wood. The little green plastic balls. There is alot of sand In it.
It is my own opinion, It looks and smells more like municipal waste than it does cow manure. It has no organic smell
It smells of waste.
Flowers maybe
Garden?.! NEVER!

Glass found in product
I’ve used this before with no issues. I purchased a bag yesterday, only to find pieces of glass mixed into the product.

Bad quality
The manure is so heavy and feels just like dirt or black clay. It is supposed to add natural nutrients to the soil but looks like it does not.

Full of mulch and large rocks
For $6/CuFt, i expected it to be better quality control. Yes, alot of black good stuff, but also a disappointing amount of Plastic chunks, tarp and filter fabric shreds, and recycled looking aggregate, not stones. Not for a garden until you sigt it by hand. I was planning to dry it out a bit, fine rake and mix with grass seed for a healthy seedling start. On opening my 3rd bag, found a nice 1 LB. piece of concrete! Considering returning the unopened 4 bags and buying the plastic and tarp chunk laden vigoro or miraklegrow, theyre a few bucks less.

Mulch Rather Than Dung
Purchased 15 bags from HD's competitor and it spread fast and easy. The following day while at Home Depot picking up an online ordered Airless Paint Sprayer decided to purchase 18 bags from HD instead of it's competitor. Judging from the amount of debris small and large I'm guesstimating it's a 50% Kow Dung & 50% Mulch. Next day the HD Black Kow all dried up like mulch while the competitor's purchase were moist and bonded together. Just can't trust what's in there as it looks like it's all mulch and no Kow stuff. Had to rake this over and over to remove all the big and small chunk. Will continue to buy from the competitor but not HD. Will need another 22 bags so hope the competitor will still carry the good stuff. One good thing though HD did acknowledge this problem, thank you!
