You can certainly transplant your seedlings directly into the soil after starting them in Ecoscraps Potting Soil.

How much does it weigh? I need ALOT for this soil recipe

need 8 30 lbs bags
Asked by: Farmer
Because the product is packaged according to volume, we cannot give a specific weight for single bags. The weight of Black Magic potting soil is dependent on the moisture in the bag.

This has peat moss, coco shells, perlite, bark, worm casings, volcanic ash, and even bat guano in it. It is wonderful to work with, a dark potting soil with tons of organic material in it. It feels and smells great and my plants love it. This will be my go to potting soil from here on out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please read this review I am a first time buyer of this and the coco coir. Me being a vetran at growing, first time trying any new products, i only use it on half my plants just incase it doesn't work, or burn my plants. So after transplanting from buckets to the ground, just over a month in the ground and the plants with the black magic soil/coco coir mix are twice the size of the plants with a few blocks of different coco coir mixed with kellog patio plus and worm castings. Highly recommend to try this product. Simply amazing!!

The soil comes rich with nutrients and helped keep a recent transplant from dying. Regular fertilizer and watering is still required, but this soil is great to use for potted plants. The bag is very large, but is not heavy. The soil is very lightweight and since the bag is large, you can easily pour it out of the bag or use your hands to get the right amount that you need. I'm not sure I can really tell this product apart from any others though, so keep this in mind when shopping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest soil on the market I'm very impressed with this soil. It is extremely fertile and I am using it for some areas of my yard that are poor sandy soil and I have great hopes. It is a very dark color and full of just about every earth nutrient you can imagine. And the best part is that it is all aged. In other words, it doesn't have big chunks of wood that is not broken down. It is just fertile, aged soil. The ingredients are numerous and include: sphagnum pet moss, coco coir, aged bark, perlite, worm castings, bat guano, feather meal, bone meal, kelp meal, and volcanic ash. At present, I am using it to build up the poor soil in my yard, but I am also going to eventually use it to plant seeds. It is fine enough to cover the seeds and allow them to sprout, and fertile enough to use as it is. It's a beautiful soil. I highly recommend it.

The ingredients that make up the blend are fantastic. The Potting Soil has all the right components, peat moss, coco coir, perilite, volcano ash, forest bark, bat guano, worm casting, etc.... These are really great ingredients that your plants required to grow well. The first thing I noticed is the fluffy, light weight composition. All potting should be fluffy and light weight. This is how it should be because after all potting soil is "soil-less." I use it for indoor house plants, so the moisture retention is a must. As soon as I water the plant, the soil just soaked up the moisture like a sponge. I also use it to start seeds. Once the germinate, I use the potting soil to nurse the young seedlings. The Potting Soil is definitely a great choice.

This is pretty good potting soil that does seem to hold moisture longer than some of the other brands I've used. Then again, we've had a wetter-than-average summer season. It is a dark, healthy color. My basil plants really seem to be thriving in it. I find that it's always best to use a soil like this that is *not* promoted as "moisture control" because the moisture control beads will eventually suck the water out of the plant roots, making them dry up faster.

It contains Sphagnum peat moss, Coco coir fiber, bark, perlite, worm castings, bat guano/feather mail/bone meal/kelp meal and volcanic ash (according to the label). Its a Scott's product. Bag contains clear instructions for how to use it for potting. Will have to write a second review after I've used it for a bit. That said it looks to be of higher quality compared to the cheaper potting soil we have used in the past.
