When will you get some in stock?

It took 2 months to get mine. Ordered it the first week in June and didn't get it until the first week of August. This third party vendor is terrible! The product is ok if you don't mind waiting 2 or 3 months for delivery.

They are an inexpensive self-treading nut/washer combination that threads it's way onto the small plastic posts. IT is not going to be strong enough if you are putting any weight in the base. I filled in the area between the 2 pieces with some Gorilla Glue to bond them together. So far so good (I found that idea in another post... Thanks to the original idea person...)

t the black plate fits over the plastic studs to fix the base to the pedestal. You will probably want to put some weight inside the vertical pedestal before assembling the metal plate. I used some concrete from my old bird bath that was broken.

Just picked it up from store. Filled the base with play sand and put the "cover" on, but I don't ...

The fasteners work kind of like screws. You have to twist them on. I used a pair of pliers to hold on to the fastener, pushed down while twisting to get it initially on, then after you get it into a groove you keep on twisting/screwing until fully in place.

What type of paint is best for this bird bath?

Asked by Peter March 8, 2019

Answer

Depends if the unit is plastic or concrete. In either case, one needs to use a paint designed for that material and use a PRIMER first. Be sure it is a good outside paint, preferably an epoxy for wet situations or at least a good enamel.

Great idea! Other customers have said this bird bath works great for hiding septic pipes. The base is hollow and widest at the ground level, approx 13" width and tapers in to approx 5" width half way up the column. Total size of birth bath 24.25" H x 19" W. Hope this helps!

I am very pleased with my new Bloem birdbath. I added some gravel into the bottom base to hold it down during the windy season. It is lightweight so I can move it on my patio area to sweep. Not like my concrete garden birdbaths. I added a small blue jay statue to the center for eye appeal . I have seen birds visiting for a drink. However, it has been freezing over lately.

In the past, I shied away from plastic bird baths thinking that they were too flimsy and cheap looking. I had both metal and concrete bird baths prior to these. The metal bird bath started out fine but soon the powder coat finish started to fail making it unsightly and hard to clean. The cement bird bath was hard to clean and prone to cracking and leaking. These plastic bird baths, look pretty good and perform very well. They are easy to clean and the hollow pedestal allows for sand or gravel to be poured in creating a solid, stable assembly. At the current cost, these bird baths are comparatively going at a 2 for 1 price. I set one of them up to see how it fares through the Winter and kept the spare one in the outbuilding. If I had to come up with one complaint it would be that the plastic base provides no means of leveling the bird bath. It must be placed on a perfectly level surface which can sometimes be less than trivial to create. A minor second complaint is that the holes to attach the bowl to the base didn't line up too well - but it's plastic; so not a big deal to fix. The manufacturer states that these are built to sustain the outdoor Winter elements. If they do, then I will be a definite convert to the Bloem plastic bird bath. I've had them for about a month now and so far so good.

The color and material are fine, The method for securing the base to the bottom of the stand is not good. I added sand to the inside for stability and attached the base using the small plastic nubs that fit into holes in the base. The base would not fit evenly (best way to describe) and comes loose - the sand runs out. will try to glue the base to the stand - hoping it holds! Expected better for the price.

attractive and lightweight. (Although, I would had preferred it to be a little heavier) when the winds come through it tips over, so I put a larger rock in the middle of the bath where there is a little upright stand and some lava rocks around the base which seemed to adhere it much better and no tipping over. The birds love it as well as the bird feeder and so nice to sit outside on the patio in the evening and watch them eat and drink/bath in the garden. I especially love the little birds (babies of the quails). Amazing how they too can fly over the wall and enjoy a meal and water just like their parents.

I love this birdbath! I've had one like this for 5 or 6 years at least, and I broke the basin finally and was so glad to find this one still on the market. The base is bigger than most, it's so easy to assemble, and the depth is just right for little birdie legs!

I wanted a WHITE bird bath, sturdy and one with will not get dirty easily on the post and bottom. I purchased my first one (same model) in 1963 and it lasted until 2013. I liked it so much I wanted the same thing and found it very economicaly at Home Depot. The product came right on time, I picked it up quicker than in any retail store. I will always try Home Depot first in the future. My Dad and I built the dollhouse in 1963, he died in 1965 so I wanted this view in retirement. Marvin

Did not include the hardware to secure to base. It was two pieces. Two pieces in a box with no paperwork for instructions and no hardware. Top and bottom were two different colors of gray. Did not match. I returned it. Experience with product was unusual for Home Depot products. This was a first.

Lousy
There is virtually no way to secure the bottom to the base so it will hold sand or rocks and there are no instructions! The small silver fasteners which are supposed to hold the base on cannot even be forced on. Do not recommend!

A piece was missing so I returned it. It's VERY lightweight and must be filled with sand to weight it down. The missing piece was the part that holds in the sand. So it wouldnt work.
