Asked by: Mars
Ours was about 12" long when delivered. It did lose most of its leaves immediately (shock) but has since begun to recover with new leaves being put out. Took 2 - 3 weeks.

What zone number is Charlotte, NC and would this tree thrive here

Asked by: Irini
Olive trees need a subtropical climate and do best with mild winters and long, warm, and dry summers. They are sensitive to hard freezing environments. They will grow in climate zones 10 and 11. Some varieties are hardy enough for zone 9 or even 8. Your hardiness zone depends on where you are located. Charlotte falls between Zones 7b and 8a. I'm growing mine in a pot. That way I can bring it inside if the temperature drops too much. You can get more information about growing olive trees in containers at this site: http://www.hgtv.com/outdoors/flowers-and-plants/trees-and-shrubs/grow-an-olive-tree Good luck.
