how much is installation for hard wood flooring

Hello! Please contact your local store and they will assist you with installation cost.

I really love the color of this flooring. When do you think the stock will be available for order?

I love my flooring. This product is great. The workmanship is top notch. If you are installing it yourself just make sure you spread out the comes in the wood. I had laid about half my living room and my wife asked me to come upstairs and look down at the floor. I did not realize but I had placed dark pieces all together in a corner and this caused a noticeable difference. So along with staggering the joints, make sure you do this as well. It days this nowhere.

can it go over radiant heating

I don't know officially. But, that kind of heat and wood normally aren't a good combination. It would also cause extreme expansion issues. I'd think. I'm not an expert. But, I did stay the night in a Holiday Inn Express.

What stain color is the best match or should I have it blended?

It comes stained as you see in the picture.

Wood filler needed for few seams in the flooring. W the at kind should be used and what color

I installed the planks very tightly together, and have no 'seams'. I used a Powernailer with 18 gauge "L" shaped cleats, with the nails at the lower end of the recommended distance between them. Using extra nails will preclude creaks and seams.

How many days are required for the hardwood to acclimate before installation.

Asked by Al November 13, 2019

Answers

The building interior shall have been dried and seasoned and a comfortable working temperature (at least 60°F) should exist during the material installation. Year round normal relative humidity of 35%-55% and temperatures between 68°F- 78°F should be maintained. Proper acclimation is especially important for a solid floor and the time required can vary depending upon the location, time of year, etc. Solid flooring planks that are less than 3” wide must be acclimated until the moisture content difference of the planks and the wood subfloor is less than 4%. For wider planks, there should never be more than a 2% moisture difference. In general, wood or plywood subfloors should not exceed a 14% moisture content. Multiple moisture readings of the sub-floors and various planks from several cartons should be taken using a probe style moisture meter just prior to beginning the installation to confirm the floor has acclimated long enough.

Which is best for this application, nails or staples, and if staples; 2"?

I used nails and found they worked really well. Just make sure you have your floor gun situated correctly. It is Hickory and it can split easily. However, once down... it is EXTREMELY durable. My dog goes crazy on it and not one scratch. You'd literally have to try to scratch or gouge it.

Can I use a Steam Mop like the Bissell Steam Mop model # 1940 on this hardwood?

We do. We use a a Bisal Steam Mop 19404. We installed the flooring 2 years ago and haven’t any problems or damage to the hardwood.

Amazing Flooring
Great Look. Amazing finish. Wood is very hard and makes the install a bit more difficult when coupled with the wider plank. Flat floor is important. Love it!

better than expected
Yes there are some milling issues with boards, but they where easily set aside for end boards and cuts. Overall the floor came out fantastic and barely had any waste

Love this Hardwood Flooring
We love this hardwood flooring (color, finish and price). 3/4" thick. No engineering. Just hardwood. The product mimics antique flooring made from vintage barrel. Woodgrain and knots are intentionally intensified in some of the pieces. Some pieces have rough spots and may snare socks. Some look like spill stains. Some have knot holes. So make sure you order a little extra since there will be pieces that are "unacceptable" to you. We pulled those pieces on the side and tell the installer to use them in corners, under the kitchen counter and inside closets etc. There were only a few pieces of warped or damage (tongue or groove) pieces.

Quality Control is not on the job
I purchased this in Heritage grey; love it. Problem, the color doesn't extend over the sides, the beveled edges so it gives off the appearance of uneven floor because there is missing color between the boards and also looks like a stripe. Not at all what it should be like. Home Depot has been awesome. Reordered with a guaranty of quality control and NOPE. Here were are again 2 months later; same crappy workmanship. Beautiful wood, just not stained all the way around as it should be. Would have paid a bit more for a better quality. Shame on quality control. Here we are, week before Thanksgiving and I have plywood floors. Living like my house is under construction for this crap and now I have to start over. ZERO ON THE QUALITY CONTROL.

We got this product to install in our master bedroom! I was able to install it myself! I did have to “bend” a few pieces over for the wood pieces to line up. Other than that we are very happy with the quality and color of this wood floor!

5 years and still looks new even with 2 dogs, hardly shows dirt
The number one thing I must say about this flooring is that it hides crimbs, hair, and dirt really well. I'm with some might call a clean a holic and normally would clean my floors one to two times a day but in the last five years only when it's really rainy and muddy that I can see dog Footprints do I feel like I must clean even when I think the floor looks clean and I clean it it's actually not it's amazing it holds up so strong extremely well the only chip I've put in this floor is when I dropped a 8 pound chisel accidentally and it took a little gouge out. The picture attached was taken today after 5 years 5 months. one caution I would do is that don't allow water to just sit on the flooring this happened in front of my refrigerator what you can see in the picture if you zoom in there's a little discoloration right by below the ice maker and that is because family let the ice cubes down the flooring so I have no treatments on this floor just as it is right all the box and it took about three years for that to happen, sorry tried to go back and correct couple grammar errors but it's too hard on this site so hope you get the gist that this is amazing flooring

My husband and I knew we wanted hickory flooring for the house we are building. We wanted medium-dark hickory to contrast with our natural hickory cabinets and this flooring was perfect. We love how rustic it looks and it looks great with our cabinets. If you're into a rustic cabin/farmhouse look (which is exactly what we're building our house to be) then this flooring is perfect for you!

This is absolutely beautiful flooring. Maybe a bit darker than it appears in the stock photos but still a wonderful color. Being real hickory there is a lot of color variation so if you're looking for a uniform color this isn't for you. As far as installation goes the only problem we ran into is that each box had a tendency to either be full of shorts or full of longs, so you had to work out of several boxes to keep things varied. As expected, there were a few warped or otherwise unusable pieces but not too bad and we actually used less than expected. I had it installed throughout almost the whole house about a month ago and have had no problems. I'm very happy with it!

In love!
I was soooo nervous ordering these floors without seeing them in person. My husband and I are very traditional but still want to be trendy and like the lived in look, just did not want super rustic like living in a barn. These are beautiful! Perfect medium color, nice tones, a tinge of distressing - we are thrilled! I had to post a review because there were so few on here. I will take additional pictures once the floor is installed.
