Is it compatible with DEF already in the tank, regular blue def? Does it clean crystals already formed or prevent crystals from forming, or both? I need to protect DEF when truck is stored in hot climate for summer months when not towing.
westdrz, Thanks for the question. Blue DEF Platinum is compatible with the regular Blue DEF that is already in your DEF tank. Platinum is designed to minimize the build up of urea crystals when water evaporates from DEF. Is not designed to clean crystals that are already formed. A properly functioning system will inherently act to dissolve already formed crystals. The best way to protect the DEF in the summer is to keep the DEF tank full and park it in the shade.
