Rusts quickly
Mine started rusting around the overflow drain about a year after installation.

Strong tub and great value
I purchased the white tub and I will agree with other reviews that it's not exactly white. The durability so far is amazing though. We dropped the tub twice while installing it and not a chip or crack in the porcelain. I did decide to go to the store and inspect them before I made the purchase based on other reviews. The first one I opened had a few scratches. Since a second one was easy to get to, I looked at that one and it was perfect. The slip resistant coating feels like sandpaper when I touch it with my hand but when I'm standing in the tub it's no problem at all.

I have been buying of Bootz tubs from HD for several years now and will give Bootz a 4 star for their product. However, HD has done a poor job in managing their returns of damaged products and inventory. I've had to two tubs in the last 2 months that were in poor shape.

This is a pretty decent looking tub, and rather affordable. We debated a ton on whether to go with cast iron or porcelain-enameled steel. I live in a second floor condo, so steel it was, and I'm glad we went that route. This tub ended up being 1/2 inch wider than the old, so we had to cut some tile on the floor. Once we got it all set in place, we did have to cut off some of the insulation in order to get the overflow to fit properly. A few things to note: 1. If you can find an undamaged tub, this thing is great. We went to one Home Depot and found an AWFUL tub. We then went to another that had three in stock, and this one was packed better and looks great. I have found maybe one pinhole in the porcelain. Moral of the story: check out the tub before you leave the store, or you may be upset. 2. The tub is a little off-white. I used white tile for the surround, and I didn't find it to be the end of the world, but worth noting. 3. The soaking depth is quite nice, and the sloped back is 50% of why I installed a new tub!

Great value for the money
Consulted some YouTube videos from "tilemasterga". By following his recommendations I had no problems installing this product, and it looks great and I have no reason to believe it won't last for years to come. Don't cut corners. insure your walls are square and you level the product properly, then you won't be disappointed.

Awesome, Easy To install
This product was great. Lightweight, and pretty durable. I mean, don't jump on it. but the fiberglass backing on it is a huge plus. i got a cheaper tub before this one and took it back cause it was awful. This one i had to put in and out a few times to make sure the back bar was level and it is so light it wasn't a problem. Obviously not as durable as a solid cast iron tub, but for a cheaper option and much much lighter.

Very nice tub!
This tub was so easy to install, it "dropped right in" to the old spot and leveled itself! Only problem is, 3 days later our brand new glass shower doors fell off the track and one of them smashed into a billion pieces inside the tub and took a large chip the size of a quarter out of the bottom. I was able to fill it with liquid steel, but I can't find a porcelain paint to cover the patched area as the tub is not "pure white" but just slightly off white.....otherwise, one of our best purchases for the new bathroom and it looks great with the beautiful new tile!!

Great Tub
Per our contractor, this is one of the best tubs he has installed. He liked that it was insulated. He did have to readjust our plumbing to make it fit. My only caution is that it is more off white than white compared to our white porcelain tile, toilet and sink. I thought it was a good value.

Perfect for the DIYer!
The BootzCast Tub arrived in perfect condition and was easy to install. Some of the other reviews had me concerned, but I'm glad we went ahead with this tub. The tub is light weight and has the built in leveling support pad (no mortar bed needed!). The rubber-like coating makes the tub extra quite. As other review mentioned, the slip resistant surface is different than you might be used to, but it's great under the feet - we love it! We had no problems with the tub scratching (we did cover it immediately after the install with cardboard and plastic). I suppose if you don't prevent abrasives from going into or onto the tub it could get scratched, like anything - use proper care and preventative measures. The installation was a breeze. The plumbing from our previous tub lined up perfectly so we didn't need to switch out the drain or overflow. We checked everything for level, installed a back side support board onto the studs and the tub went right in. We anchored it as instructed and we were done in minutes. The best part, no mortar bed needed! I would recommend this tub to anyone planning on doing their own installation, it's easy to work with and light weight.
