You always have to buy a drain for any new tub. Locke Supply and Lowes also carries drains.

High density steel covered in a thick porcelain that makes it hard to chip. It weighs around 75 lbs. Not to heavy but recommend you have help with installation to maneuver in or out of tight spots and to set in right position for drain.

what are the layout specs for the installation

You need an opening of at least 60" from stud to stud with 30" clearance for width. Make sure your tub location doesn't take up space from toilet area and or vanity.

Stay away! Rusts immediately
Hired a contractor to install the tub. Haven’t even been used to shower just rinse off things and the tub has rust spots all over it! Highly disappointed. How does a brand new tub rust not even after one full use!!!

Rust
We have had this tub for five years now after the first couple months notice the porcelain is very thin the non-skid surface is gone after washing it. Rest is starting to form in the bottom outside corner. Wish I never bought this tub you can make your own decisions from Reading other comments.

wish we had read the reviews first
We went into HD looking for a specific tub but they were out of stock so we decided to go with this nice deep soaking tub as it was about the same price as the other one. Out of the box it was fine and after installing, cleaning, filling and draining we noticed rust ALREADY! How is that even possible. So now we are stuck with this tub as we are not redoing our tile to remove. Such a shame that we spent $250 for a brand new tub yet it doesnt look new.

I LOVE this tub. Its as solid and sturdy as you can get. It will last forever! And the customer service at Bootz was top notch!! I noticed some rust on the tub after using it for a week. I contacted their customer service and they knew exactly what the issue was. It was debris from when it was installed. They recommended I get Bar Keeper's Friend to clean it, and it removed all the rust. After that was cleaned up, I noticed a small chip in the porcelain (most likely from contractor dropping a tool during installation...). I contacted them again and they promptly sent me out a touch up kit! I was worried about this tub after reading all the reviews, but the tub is amazing and the customer service is amazing. Sure, if the tub is mishandled after leaving the company and is damaged, you're not going to like it. Inspect it before purchasing/installing. But you'll have that with any product. I HIGHLY recommend this tub. I'm so glad I ignored the negative reviews. Thanks Bootz!!!

Purchased this tub in store at Home Depot. Unfortunately no one noticed until after the tub was installed that the porcelain coating was too thin and hence it felt rough and there is a light blue hue going round the interior of the tub. Now I'm either going to have to resurface my brand new tub which doesn't last or i'm going to have to rip it out and replace which is a whole project in itself since the surrounding tile has already been installed. DO NOT BUY or make sure to inspect the tub carefully before you install it.

The tub I purchased plus two more I inspected prior to purchase had chips in the porcelain in approximately the same locations, about where the support brackets attach to the tub on either end. Of course Home Depot was easy about exchange and refund but very it's very frustrating and a waste of time with these defective products.

Hello Art,
we apologize for your negative experience with a Bootz Manufactured tub. At some point the tubs could have been mishandled, dropped, or carried by those braces that could have caused the chips. We do have ways to fix chips in the porcelain finish if they ever occur. If you would like more information please contact Bootz Manufacturing Customer Service at 812.423.5401.

As seen in other reviews I too had an issue with a pin hole area that was missing porcelain. Took a chance and did not inspect before leaving store. Took it back and inspected two remaining in stock and they were in worse shape than the one I had. Unfortunately I had contractors waiting to install so I took back the one I originally had. Service desk was extremely friendly and offered a discount for my troubles and the defect in tub. The blemish is on top of tub. Feel like I can get some of the MFG’s touch up paint and it will be ok. I have also emailed Bootz of the issue and hoping they will comp me the touch up paint since it was not the fault of anyone other than a defect in workmanship on their part. Feel like this mfg could do a better job on inspections before it’s shipped out. I hold no grudges towards Home Depot. However, I would assume if they got enough returns and losing money they would think twice about having this product if not the MFG represented in thier store as an offering. So in closing I would say this tub is a good buy just keep an eye out for the pin holes!

I suggest opening the box at home depot. Mine had a dent in the side of it, I should have took it back to HD, but instead I pushed on it to try and smooth it out. Most people don't notice, but I always see it and that's on HD not the tub. The tub itself is awesome. It's wide and lengthy. It has a nice sure footing when standing in the tub. It felt secure when it was installed.
