Q:We installed this tub three months ago. There is a rust spot that looks like it is deep and even getting deeper. Other spots around it as well. No scrubbing cleanser used.

Q:One answer about combined height of the Nextile 30x60x60 Surround and Mauicast 60 in.tub. was 78.5.
It states the mauicast tub's overall height is 16.625. why isn't the total overall height 60 plus 16.25 in. Where does the extra 2.25 in. come from?

Great quality tub, love the soaking depth. From reading other reviews I knew to look at the tub itself before leaving the store which was good because the first had quite a chip at the bottom. Overall very happy with this!

Purchased in store. After reading various reviews about quality of finish we were sure to examine the tub in-store. The first one we looked at was fine. When we got it home we noticed a couple of tiny pin-sized holes in the finish on the front apron which are not visible form 2 feet away.
Since the tub is a no mortar bed install we just added a ribbon of construction adhesive on the base and on the cleat. We did a test run of the bath, having two warm baths (needed after a hard week of work!) The bath is VERY comfortable and felt larger than our old bath. The next day a chip was noticeable on the front inside of the tub on the curve about 6 inches from the drain hole. A close examination showed that the chip had actually occurred from between the steel and the finish, an impurity had most likely expanded due to the heat when the tub was filled. Calling the warranty number listed on Bootz website went to a timeshare / pyramid scheme Calling their main number and going through the menu got me to American Bath Group, who now provide warranty for Bootz and many other tub brands. After filling in a warranty form and emailing it back, the warranty solution is to be sent a repair kit. I've not yet received this but have already ordered another one online just in case. It seems common for tubs to be damaged during installation, so hopefully the repair will be such that even I won't know it's there when done. I'll be back to the store for a recompense on this item that is requiring additional work due to uncorrected manufacturer defect. In the mean time the bathroom remains untiled, an unfortunate delay.

This is an excellent bathtub. I've never installed a bathtub before and this was an easy install. The quality of the bathtub is excellent, also. I like the fact that it has a built-in pad and is insulated. I didn't have to put down any mortar.

The tub was delivered damaged. I called the HD store and every Mauicast tub in stock had a blemish, scratch or dent. The HD store manager called another HD stores and they also had three damaged tubs. Not sure if its bad packaging, poor quality or the product being mishandled during shipping or at the store, but when you have that many tubs damaged, you know something is wrong.

Two chips in the tub after 10 months. The tub looked great out of the box but after a mere 10 months, there are two chips (and a third on the way) in the tub. We did not use any abrasive cleaner, bleach, etc. This is incredibly frustrating because we have no recourse other than to uninstall the tub (and sink) and redo the tile, which is financially not feasible for us. I guess we have to live with it. I can only imagine how many cracks we'll have as time goes on. I would have gladly paid more money for a more durable tub had I known about this problem.

Wrong sizing dimensions
We haven't had the chance to use the tub yet since our bathroom is stil being build so I cannot comment on the quality of the tub. I was however very disappointed with the sizing. We had a new bathroom built and were told to get a 5ft tub that would fit perfectly from wall to wall. When the tub went in our contractor had a build a 2 inch thick wall behind the tub (which does not look good since it sticks out from the rest of the wall). The tub measures at 57 1/2" instead of the stated 60" At first we thought it was a contractor mistaken however measuring the tub has shown it to be a product error. Since the walls are tiled and the bathroom is nearly complete we have to keep it but we are less that satisfied with the faulty tub sizing since our bathroom was build specifically to accommodate a 60" tub.
