does it have a fine adjustment like the comparable DeWalt model
Asked by Sam September 14, 2018Hi Sam, Your question is very relevant to success when using a laser. I have found that the ability to micro adjust the projected beam is just as important as the laser itself. I tested this laser kit (Bosch Gll3-300) versus the Dewalt dw088LG cross laser (see video in review section) and I found even though the dewalt had a superior beam the magnetic stand included in the kit did not allow fine adjustment. In contrast the Bosch comes with a micro adjust stand that allows you to move the beam a fraction of an inch by turning the adjustment knob, fairly easily. This fine adjustment is critical when trying to place lines for tile layout, leveling joists, or even hanging pictures. Whatever you choose make sure you have a good micro-adjust stand/attachment and you'll be much happier in the long run. Hope this helps!
how does it self level
Asked by samuel June 2, 2018I believe it is bottom weighted some how and fluid damped (vertically aimed laser hits a reflecting cone) for the horizontal line. Then the other 2 cones align (there lines) off of the same system so the stay 90 degrees out in each plan.

The details state this unit is for indoor usage, but has an IP rating. Is that a misprint or is t...
Asked by Brody April 9, 2019Hi Brody, The packaging states it is IP rated which give me some comfort given how much dust it can be exposed to at the job-site. As far as indoor vs outdoor I tested it in both conditions (my video review appears in the review section of the HD product description) . I found it worked well in indoor conditions. But outdoors the laser line is quickly lost to the naked eye. The company sells an optional receiver for outdoor applications...but I have not tried it first hand.
Do they have this in a green laser instead of red?
