Hi Monica, thank you for your question and interest in Model #SHEM63W55N. This Dishwasher utilizes our PureDry or Condensation Drying Method. Our Dishwasher has no vent. How this works is the final rinse uses high-temperature water to make the dishes very hot. The stainless steel tub of the dishwasher cools faster than your dishes because stainless steel cools faster than glass and porcelain. Condensation occurs when the moist air in the dishwasher comes into contact with the cooler stainless steel tub, and turns into water droplets. These water droplets trickle down to the bottom of the dishwashers and are drained. They are also drained through a Condensation Port on the left side of the Dishwasher. Since it’s a closed system with no fan, the cleaning process is more sanitary. With no exposed heating element, plastic utensils and dishes places on the lower rack will not melt. The use of rinse agents, such as Jet Dry®, aids the condensation drying process by reducing the surface tension of water. This in turn allows the water on your dishware surfaces to run off more freely, so they dry better. Select models have an Extra Dry option, which adds extra heat to the final rinse to enhance drying results. The Sanitize option on select models increases the time and temperature of the final rinse to eliminate up to 99.9% of bacteria, and enhances drying results. Also leave the Dishwasher door closed after the cycle is complete to allow the water to run down before opening the door. For further questions please contact our Customer Support Team at 1-800-944-2904.

There is a tiny sprayer above the third rack in addition to the sprayer below the top rack. Having a full top rack should not prevent your dishes in the third rack from getting clean.

How long is wash cycle with extra dry function selected? Will the dishes come out dry?

Asked by dishwalla April 21, 2021

Answers

Hi dishwalla, thank you for your question and interest in Model #SHXM63W55N. For the Normal Wash Cycle with the Extra Dry Option the time is 135-155 minutes, also the same with the Sanitize Option. We recommend the Auto Wash Cycle, which lets all of the sensors in the Dishwasher determine hwo many washes and rinses it needs and then the Sanitize Option. This takes 125-150 minutes. Another trick with plastics is to alternate with glasses to help with drying.

Hi Catmom, thank you for your question and interest in Model #SHSM63W55N. The InfoLight is similar to the type of light that is used in a laser pointer. Due to your concerns, I would suggest Model #SHEM63W55N which does not have the InfoLight and has the controls on the front of the Dishwasher.

There is no lock that I am aware of. I checked the manual, but no lock is listed. You should have a wall switch that you can turn off the power to the dishwasher. Every house I've been in has one, so hopefully your house has this switch. That should keep children from turning it on.

That is the same as our built in counter inside dimension and I was concerned about it but it fit in just fine. Tight but it fit though I had to remove a sliver of the Pergo flooring just in front of the space so it rests on the actual flooring.

Excellent product !
This is a great dishwasher. It comes well packaged and overall construction is excellent. Very quiet unit! You cant just hear a faint hum. Purchased completely online and delivered within about a week via Home Depot delivery I didn't give it 5 stars because for the price of it they did not include the 90 degree 3/4 water adapter. I had to run out and purchase it. Very very annoying.

Awesome, reliable friend
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher has been a blessing! With two young kids, we need to exploit this poor dishwasher after every meal, but use after use, it always delivers clean dishes. Almost no noise, very quiet, and it satisfied our needs.

We selected the Bosch 300 dishwasher after scanning lots of reviews and focusing on the three most important factors of home appliances; Reliability, Reliability and Reliability. The 300 series seemed to be the top rated. We've been running it for about 1-month now and it hasn't skipped a beat. Product was well packaged, to avoid shipping damage and ours arrived flawless. Fit and finish was very nice. We also purchased the hook up kit, which is just the water supply flex line (good quality). Drain line and power cord was included with our model. The unexpected: As stated, reliability was our main focus, external appearance did catch our eye and the flat silverware drawer is nice. We Were Blown-Away by How Quite This Thing is ! It's hard to tell if its even running. This was an unexpected bonus ! So far we are extremely pleased, time will tell on the reliability rating.

Winner Winner Cleans My Chicken Dinner!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Bosch 300 series and the quality just keeps improving. After selling my previous home, my builder grade model did not meet my family's "chef's needs" on a daily basis. The issue with the builder's model wasn't with cleaning, it was racking/load amounts. But I knew just how to cure that and cure it fast! My previous Bosch was a scoop handle model and I loved it. But this time I wanted something different so I opted for the front display, again in the 300 series, which meets/exceeds our needs. And though it may be the differences in homes, I think the second Bosch is quieter than the first -- and that's an uncanny level of QUIET! I've been very happy with the third rack in each model. We use it for silverware and all small items. Generally the third rack is always full by the end of loading. Though the third rack wasn't a priority for me, it's turned out to be a huge space saver! I'm glad we have it in the end. I’m also amazed how clean the items on the third rack at cycle’s end. The middle rack is awesome in the sense our bowls can be upright between the tines, saving a ton of space and allowing more dishes per load. There are three levels of middle rack positions with a total of nine options when using the RackMatic system. This is amazing when loading tall items below on one side, each side, etc. Small plates can also be accommodated in the middle rack if you adjust the height for more capacity. And then there's the bottom rack, or "Mother Rack of all Racks“ as I like to call it! We love the tine spacing for plates which allows greater capacity on the bottom level. There's many options for tine spacing on the bottom with some tines foldable which creates more dishes to be placed upright and maximizing even more space. And having the third rack on top, we also removed the silverware basket from the bottom rack and that opened up the right side for casseroles and larger, bulkier items, especially during the holidays, etc. I must admit, however, it took me quite a while to learn the bottom racking of the Bosch as compared to other brands in my past. It's a different configuration, but once you learn it, you'll fall in love and appreciate the capacity options ahead of you. Just be patient when you’re in “learning mode” of loading! As for cycles and options, I cannot express enough to READ YOUR MANUAL on understanding the Bosch dishwasher! This is a MUST. Short version of the content: Heavy, Normal, Auto all have to do with water heating temperature and there are options you also have that aren’t necessarily buttons to be selected on the control panel. There’s a series of options you can set using button codes (described in manual) that will certainly make a difference in drying and operator displays. Best advice: READ UP!!!! I highly suggest a rinse-aid for the Bosch. We do use one, however, with our soft water we have the rinse-aid setting on 1. We achieve completely dry dishes after each load. I’ve read a lot of negatives about dishwashers with no heating element for drying but each of my Bosch models have achieved dry results by setting options (Intensive Dry is one “hidden” option) and selecting the Extra Dry option, along with Sanitize option. I’m actually impressed with the drying of the Bosch and not having a heating element allows more loading capacity as you can place plastics and such on the bottom rack. The one option I was surprised by, and thankfully it doesn’t effect my household, is the end of cycle signal. This model doesn’t feature a signal like the scoop handled model included (a beep series). We prefer no signals (dishwasher or dryer) so that we can sleep more sound! However, the scoop handle model signal can be turned on or off as well as a volume level setting. I guess next to capacity achievements, the next best feature is sound level. The Bosch amazes me daily how quiet a dishwasher can be! The Bosch is set in a completely enclosed unit and also includes a flood protection feature, called AquaStop. The weight of the door and sturdiness of the racking system is another great value of the Bosch. And the detergent cup is in a nice location so not to be blocked by bottom rack dishes, as I found every other day in my previous builders grade model (annoying)! We use a pod detergent in our new model and used a liquid detergent in the previous model. Both achieve excellent end results and each model also washed out the detergent cup nice and clean — unlike some brands of machines in my past where the detergent was still sitting in the cup in the end. Not with Bosch! They’ve actually added grooves in their detergent cup to allow water flow “under” the detergent to successfully disperse into the tub. Brilliant! All in all, we’re one happy family again after our Bosch install. The water bill has been cut dramatically (thanks to water sensing features) and our dish loads are once again shinier and pristine! And it is well deserved after having to wait exactly two months from the day of order to receive our new Bosch, thanks to Covid-19 and plant shutdowns. But it was one wait that was well worth it in the end! I hope this helps at least one person out there trying to research and decide on Bosch. I know I won’t have any other brand of dishwasher since discovering their amazing machine. Best of luck to you and happy dishwashing!!!!!

A great dishwasher!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently had to replace our old dishwasher from another manufacturer. I had heard good things about Bosch dishwashers so wanted to to buy one as a replacement. This new Bosch is the best ever! It gets super hot and cleans so much better. Also somehow it is even quieter then our old one, we can only tell it is on when we hear the drain. Also really like the physical buttons on the front and countdown timer as it makes it easy to see the settings and know when it will be complete.

Dishwasher Standout
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one quiet dishwasher. We love the delay setting so it pretty much runs after we go to bed. That said, we can run it when we are watching TV and not be bothered by the sound. After having installed 4 other makes of dishwashers I must say that this dishwasher was by far the easiest to install. The leveling controls are simple and really well designed. We are very pleased with the cleaning results of the dishwasher and yes, we do not have to rinse the dishes. Simply put, we are impressed.

Surprisingly spacious
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this Bosch 300 dishwasher to replace a 7 year old dishwasher. We researched various brands and Bosch kept being listed first in various categories. But we chose this particular model due to one important factor (for us), heated drying! Most Bosch dishwashers use a system of superheated rinse water, then "pop" the door and allow natural convection to dry the dishes. That would not cut it for us! From the initial cycle, this dishwasher has lived up to it's well deserved reputation. The dishes are clean, the pots and pans too. The automatic setting is what we use the most, but you may use alternative settings to clean too. The interior space is ample for loading large pots and the middle rack is adjustable for plates and bowls. The top rack has been a hidden gem, it allows you to place serving utensils and smaller items to be cleaned without slipping out of place when hit by a jet of water. The front controls are ok'd-school red LED, with countdown timer. A dedicated power button will keep it from accidentally starting up. My wife and I are very pleased with it!

Air dry feature is the BEST
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While remodeling we replaced our 11-year-old Bosch with another Bosch of course. The old one worked just fine but didn't match. I have to say how much I love this new washer. Three racks are perfect. It keeps lids in place. The auto air feature is exactly what I need. Improved rack layout holds more dishes than before. Cleans. Silent.

Our new Diswasher rocks!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love our new BOSCH diswasher, 300 Series. It has all the features I've been looking for and works like a charm! I love the buttons on front, not hidden. I can always see what cycle is running and it's easy to tell when it's done. It's quiet as a mouse and it's simple to operate.
