40 ft. Green Cross Line Laser Level Self Leveling with VisiMax Technology, 360 Degree Mounting Device and Carrying Pouch

So this laser line is pretty bright and works great during the day and especially at dusk or darker. My only gripe with it is that the horizontal line that it projects is really short and even if you are 15 feet away from a wall it won’t cast a line across the whole wall. But the vertical line is awesome and will go all the way up a 20 foot wall and is very visible. The gripper stand that it comes with is useless so make sure you have a tripod or can set it on something. But it comes is a nice little Velcro case that works well, and again, for the price this is a nice little unit to have around the house for hanging things up or doing some light cabinetry work or tile work.

A great addition to any DIYer, or Professional who needs a straight line. Whether you are hanging drywall or pictures it gives you a nice visible line to follow. The self-leveling feature is great but it can be touchy. The mount that is supplied with the laser works great and you can also use a tripod not included in the package if you don't have a mounting surface for the supplied clamp. Endless uses for the right project.

I think the Bosch Green Cross Self-Leveling Laser Level would be a great addition to most toolkits. I plan to use it for internal DIY projects, including a bathroom renovation that I have planned. I also find it useful for leveling shelves and pictures. It emits a nice bright green laser light which is most visible indoors. It's not actually intended for outdoor use, as the laser is washed out by the sun, but in the shade, it can be used and is visible for shorter distances (10-15 ft approx.). It can be mounted (or set to rest) on various horizonal and vertical surfaces, a table for example, but for maximum flexibility, a tripod is best since that provides the most accurate method for placing lines. It comes with a carrying pouch, a mounting bracket and two batteries. Overall, definitely a good instrument, in my view and something I would recommend.

The 40 ft. Green Cross Line Self-Leveling Laser Level with VisiMax Technology, 360 Degree Mounting Device and Carrying Pouch from Bosch is way better than what I was expecting at this price point. I have a very expensive jobsite laser level that is super-duty, and this little laser level matches up to it. The green lines are a very nice touch and they are super easy to see. The red laser on my other device can get bogged down by other colors. This green laser is super bright and the device itself is super lightweight. It only takes 2 AA batteries and it works like a charm. You do have to be careful around it because it's really sensitive to floor movement. If you're stepping hard around it the pendulum will swing and have to re-center. The little carrying care that came with it is nice and padded and seems like it would protect it from minor damage. I'm very happy so far with this laser level. Good job Bosch.

This is an innovative tool for me. I have never used a laser level before. The ability to make a level line without a long level and constant rechecking is a big plus. The self leveling mechanism really helps but it is very sensitive and cannot be handheld. It just shakes even slightly being handheld. It does attach to a tripod and a easy to use mounting clip comes with this level. On the downside the lighting was crucial to using this level. If it was too bright the laser cannot be seen - ie daytime outdoors. If you have inside needs this will work fine.

The Self leveling is great. No built-in bubble to level the tool needed. Tested with a bubble leveler and the laser is just as accurate. The swivel made adjusting the laser to get the self-level to work well. It will keep flashing every 3 seconds or so if the laser is not level, simply adjust slightly until the laser stops flashing. Note: I found that sometimes just an up or down adjustment is what is needed as opposed to left or right adjustment. What I really like is that the laser has a universal mounting screw inset which allows me to use a Selfie stick/stand so I did not have to buy a separate tripod/mounting stand. This kit still came with mounting clamp of sort which gives me even more mounting options as needed. The laser is bright enough to use indoors at any time and outdoors too. But for outdoor use I found that I needed to move the laser closer during the mid-day to my bricks to see the green laser better. Note: There is a special pair of glasses you can use with the laser for bright light conditions that filter the ambient light allowing you to see the laser better. I found this information in the instructional manual but I do not have those glasses so I did not try them but did try a pair typical sunglasses and they do not work. As for 40 feet...? My understanding is the laser is 20 feet in each direction from the center of the unit giving a 40-foot line. And this is plenty accurate distance for majority everyday home use. I am happy with his laser leveler.

My first time using a laser level. I used it for a small portion of our bath tile job. I needed to vertically align the tiles on the vertical post section in the photos. Please ignore the horizontal line, it is not misaligned, I simply did not bother to align it as the horizontal was not a concern here. Anyway, the level could not have been any easier to use. Simply attach or mount it in the proper position for your project and have it within 4 degrees of level and it will automatically self level to plumb/level. If you do not get it within 4 degrees, the laser lines will flash on/off to indicate you need to adjust. The included/attached clamp worked perfect for me to attach to the door jamb as shown in the pic. Another option is to mount to a tripod, which I believe is basically a universal size screw attachment. A great laser level, I approve.

The Bosch 40 ft. Green Cross Line Laser with self leveling is a good laser to be used in the constructions of room where level lines need to be placed, such as adding wall trim, framing windows, adding electrical boxes, or even installing kitchen cabinets to ensure being plum, level, and square. The unit is small and easy to handle and store. It is powered by 2 AA batteries, and Bosch kindly includes those batteries with the unit. The laser is very sensitive to movement. If it gets bumped, the unit disables the laser until the unit is stabilized and it automatically tuns the laser back on. The unit throws a good laser, however, the farther away you get, the fuzzier the laser line is. The laser is bright green and stands out. You cannot miss it. The laser comes with a mounting claw that is adjustable on both the X and Y plains, along with the Z plain. It comes with a standard screw socket, so it can be mounted onto most standard tripods if desired. The power switch is located on the side, and is a slide, so it is not easy to bump into the off position. The unit comes with a protective carry case that helps keep the unit clean in storage. I like the laser. It is perfect to use in small rooms and would help tremendously even when hanging pictures or mirrors. It fit nicely onto the included clamp and fit nicely on the tripod. Using this inside is no problem. Outside it probably could be used, but the 40 ft distance would need to be kept. The color is bright to see. I just didn't think the laser was a focused as it could be. It was fuzzy to me, and that could create differences. I would have thought it would be more in focus. The laser is made in China, imported through Mexico. It comes with a 2 year warranty. Overall, I rate the laser at 4*s out of 5, dinging it one star for the fuzziness of the laser. I do recommend it. Over the years, I have owned and used a lot of laser levels during home construction, window and door installation, siding, cabinets etc. I wanted a small laser like this for jobs around the house, like hanging pictures or putting up shelves. This Bosch cross-hair laser is fine for what it does. It’s compact, and its green laser lines are bright and easy to see. Like most laser levels, it is not going to work outside on a sunny day, but it works well inside. It comes with a pouch and a flexible mounting clamp and can be used with most standard camera tripods. One drawback with this level is the cross-hair lines are always on, you can’t switch off either the level-line or the plumb-line and use only one line or the other.

A straight forward, easy to use green laser level – weights just a little over half a pound (w/ batteries) - simple to operate – just get it level to +/- 4 degrees (self leveling) and turn it on – if it’s not within the 4 degree of level the laser beam will flash on and off. Because of the self leveling feature, the beam spread may vary from the center point, the total horizontal beam spread is about 1.4X the distance – the vertical beam spread is about 3.4X the distance (top weighted about 55% top and 45% bottom). This kit includes a carrying case with hook and loop closure. It uses 2 AA Alkaline batteries (which are included) they load from the back of the unit, there is a standard ¼” tripod socket on the bottom. Included is a clamping device (referred to as a “flexible mounting device” in the operating instructions) which has a maximum jaw opening of around 2.25” this threads into the tripod socket in the unit.
