The fire does not focus on the bottom of the pan, instead on the side. This is essentially a big design flaw which leads to uneven heat distribution during cooking. The bottom of the frying pan should be part that receives large portion of the heat. If not, then the food will be overcooked on peripheral area of the pan but bottom remained uncooked. Unless If you don't mind eating raw/uncooked food, then it is not a problem.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit has two powerful burner, two okayish ones which I knew from the start since you can clearly see the size difference from the pictures. It looks good in the kitchenette but was disappointed that the BOSCH logo was worn (smeared looking) so it didn't look truly new when it arrived. I had to install it anyway due to time constraints but it would have been nice to feel it was new at the start. That being said, I have now used it a month and it is great, cleans easily and looks professional grade in the space.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great cooktop. Easy to use and clean. The large burner really puts out a lot of heat. This is a common design detail, but it would be nice if the burner caps were secured somehow, so that they would not fly off every time you wipe around them.

The burners light almost instantly and then can be finely regulated. Easy to clean by just lifting one end of the heavy cast iron grills. Our one complaint is not with this cooktop, but with the ad for the “500 Series” which implies it comes with a light to indicate a burner is on. It does not.

I love this cooktop. So far this cooktop has exceeding my hopes. It is so easy to wipe up spills and messes. The grates come off easily to get access to the stainless steel. I also like where the knobs are and how it gives me more room for my pans. And the grates make the top all one level.
