Q:I am unfamiliar with non-vented dryers. Will this dryer heat the clothes to the same temperature...

Answer This Question
A: Hi GF. Thank you for your question. Vented dryers have a history of overdrying, which is where the majority of fabric damage occurs. Fabric tends to be cooler coming out of a ventless dryer, which might make you think they are still wet even though the clothes are close to zero percent moisture.

Great little dryer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fantastic 24" dryer. I've gone throug my fair share of dryers, and this one is by far the quiettest of them all. The dryer itself is quite simple, and I like that you can select "Low Heat" and "Drying Level". Being able to run this out of electricity and without a vent is probably the biggest plus of this device.
A few things that I struggled with. First one is that my units has a considerable amount of water that gets accumulated on the access hatch (this is the port on the lower left corner). There are a few parts in there that help direct the hot humid air into the condenser, which then pumps the water into the drain, but the amount of water that gets accumulated there is a bit annoying, as it needs frequent cleaning. I contacted Bosch about it, they responded that this is normal. I dont think its normal, but that's where we are at. I've grown the habit of having a towel around just to dry up that area, and then just throw the towel into the dryer as well. Another issue is that the drum only turns in a single direction and at a single speed (this is just like most dryers). But because of the front glass door, any softener sheets always get stuck on the lower left area of the drum, pinched between the door and the drum itself. This is the relative center of the "eye of rotation" of clothes. Certainly a minor inconvenience compared to the rest of the capabilities of the dryer.

Compact Dryer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We modeled our bathroom to have laundry on the first floor instead of the basement. We loved the fact that we did not have to vent the dryer out of the house. It is the perfect size for us and it is quiet. Easy to take care of.

Do not buy this dryer!! There is something systemically wrong with the condensation sump pump. Because of the inefficiency of the pump the clothes will not dry at all and the DR warning light comes on and then the dryer shuts down.

Stop making these condensation dryers...
My old vented bosch dryer WTA3510US just broke down and looking to replace it with a similar vented dryer. Condensation dryers do not save energy at in a practical setting:
(1) condensation dryers put out warm air makes the apartment hotter and I will need to turn on airconditioning!
(2) The moisture rich air put out by the dryer cause mold and encourages fungi growth... another health hazard.

Good drier overall - if you optimize settings
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The drier works after figuring out how best to run it. The moisture sensor isn't perfect. Cotton seems to be a decent setting for us. Then, clean the lint screen and the Quick 40 seems to finalize the job. Hardware-wise, 4.5 out of 5.
The app is without a doubt the most poorly-implemented idea I can imagine. The whole reason I got this was to use the remote start. Away from home - so add time to the dry cycle. However, if you (inevitably) forget to hit the "remote" on the drier - which goes off after every cycle, you can't start the drier remotely. So, you have to actually be in front of the drier to use it remotely!!! I just updated the firmware and had hoped this would be fixed. Nope... Remote still goes off when finished or you change cycle. Why?????

good product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this machine for about a month. In general I like it a lot. But, find to get my clothes really dry I have to use the sanatize option. I don't mind, but have read the manual and don't understand why other settings leave my clothes damp.

Bosch Driver
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed an under the counter dryer. There are not a lot of options. It is a ventless dryer and it takes a bit longer to dry clothes. I had to get used to it. All and all I like.

If I could give this 0 stars I would - it doesn't actually dry. A technician will come out and tell you that this is the way it's supposed to work. Note that this is a condensation dryer. As in it leaves all of the condensation in the clothes and in the dryer. It DOES NOT DRY.
