Hi homie20. Thank you for your question. Per the Use and Care Manual for the 800 Series Slide-in Electric Range, Model # HEI8056U: The maximum heating time is limited. If you forget to turn off the oven, it turns off automatically after a set period of time, the maximum allowed time is 24 hours.

Hi LN. Thank you for your question. For the Slide-in Electric Range,Model # HEI8056U you do not need to use pans with magnetic properties as you would with Induction cooking. Here are a few tips from the Use and Care Guide for your Model: Matching Diameters – The base of the pan should cover or match the diameter of the element being used. Pans may overhang the element area by 1" (25.4 mm) all around. • Do not use glass pans as they may scratch the surface. Use of pots and pans with rounded (either concave or convex) warped or dented bottoms should be avoided. • Make sure the bottom of the pot or pan being used is clean and dry. • Use pots and pans with thick, smooth metal bottoms. • Do not slide metal pots across the cooktop. Pans may leave marks which need to be removed immediately.

Answer

Mike, Thank you for your question and interest in Bosch electric range. Electrical Installation requires a flush mount 208/240 VAC dedicated circuit outlet. Use the diagram shown in Installation Guide to make sure your installation in properly prepared for the range. Sounds like you will need a deeper cutout than 25" given your electrical plug is not flush installed into the wall or you will need to flush install the outlet to fit 25" cabinet depth. Please refer to Installation Guide which can be found at https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/59/592ac926-7aa2-4e3a-bc7a-ab477db4858c.pdf

Can you cook with cast iron on this cooktop?

Answer

Hi Sue22. Thank you for your question. For Model # HEI8056U, we recommend pots and pans with smooth metal bottoms. Per the Use and Care Manual: Use of pots and pans with rounded (either concave or convex) warped or dented bottoms should be avoided. Make sure the bottom of the pot or pan being used is clean and dry. Use pots and pans with thick, smooth metal bottoms. Do not slide metal pots across the cooktop. Pans may leave marks which need to be removed immediately. Do not use glass pans as they may scratch the surface. For full information on Cookware here is the link to the Use and Care Manual, the information is on page 21: https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/9b/9be47637-1145-4ed9-857c-e57585183cc7.pdf

The cooktop appears to extend over the edge of the cutout, which is good as it creates a built in look. Separate?

Great Stove
Customer review from bosch-home.com logo
WE really like this slide in range. The oven works great. The burners light up beautifully. The glas top overhangs the counters just right. WE are concerned that we shouldn't use cast iron cook wares. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Range
Customer review from bosch-home.com logo
The range is very nice and I love how it Extends over counter top. It is easy to clean with a cook top cleaning produce and a glass top cooking scrubbing pad. The oven is easy to use and punch in the degree you want is easy. I ha we been using this stove for 3 months and am satisfied with my purchase. The biggest con is when using the cook top and leaning in a little bit you hit the oven keypad. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

So happy my old stove broke down . . .
Customer review from bosch-home.com logo
. . . because NOW I have a dream stove/oven. I love the extended side top that keeps food particles from falling down the side of the stove/cabinets. The oven racks have handles to easily pull out the racks. The warming draw is a bonus as we entertain a lot and it's great to have the drawer to keep our apps and breads warm until they're ready to be served. The burners are quick to react to a change in settings. I highly recommend this range. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Mostly satisfied
Customer review from bosch-home.com logo
Our appliance repairman who is not an authorized Bosch dealer (darn) highly recommended to get all Bosch appliances as they have a reputation of long lasting and few repairs so Bosch appliances are the only ones we considered or reviewed. The appliances we replaced were almost 20 years old. I do not like the control knobs on oven door as I accidentally lean against them when reaching for something in the upper cupboard. This causes the oven to beep and ask for a temperature setting. This happens less often as time passes since I am becoming more careful not to lean against the knobs. Often my foot touches the warming door and the drawer opens automatically; there is no handle on warming drawer so you need to close it with a pot holder so that you do not leave a finger print. "Kitchen timer" will keep beeping until you shut it off (good).  Cakes cook in less time than box instructions and taste perfectly; we rarely use convection mode. I find that food takes less time to bake in this new oven. I really like the "Fast Preheat" option. Stove top burners heat up much faster and seem hotter than our prior range and I have burned my food a couple times so there is a learning curve; the right front burner seems to be hotter at position 4 than the double left burner at position 4. I also have new Calphalon fry pans and that might be adding to the confusion. It is difficult to read the heat settings as they are so faint and partially hidden by the knob itself. I find that I have to bend way down to read them and sometimes need to use a flashlight so I can read the faint number around the knob. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Very easy to install. Love all the features, especially the convection oven! The touch controls for the oven are very sensitive, however there is a panel lock control also. We don’t really have any use for the warming drawer, but it’s a nice option to have.

Bosch Dishwasher 800 series
Customer review from bosch-home.com logo
Let me start by saying that we had a 500 series Bosch dishwasher for 10 years and loved it. So when the electrical just quit working it was an easy decision to buy another Bosch. I would say that the decibels are misleading. I believe the salesman told me my old one was 48 and this one would be even quieter. But it's not. It makes noises at certain times in the cycle that were never there before. I never knew my old Bosch was even running. I do notice this one. So that was disapointing. It also pushed water out with such force that it makes an awful gurgling type sound in the sink drain. I had the repair man out since we paid to have it installed. He said he couldn't do anything about the drain and that the unit sounded perfectly normal. So ..... part of it is expectations. We were so happy with our old Bosch just expected this one to be at least as satisfying to use, if not more. But it does definitely clean better. There are almost too many options for cleaning cycles. Complicated isn't always better but that seems to be the way cars etc are going as well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
