Where is this Bosch 800 Series made? Is the Benchmark Series and 800 series the same?

AnswerHi ralph. Thank you for your question. The Bosch Radiant Electric Cooktop is made in the US. Benchmark series offers additional function and performance over 800 series. Generally, Benchmark series provides higher wattages on elements, offers 5 elements v 4 elements, offers more sizes of elements, and offers AutoChef which automatically maintains exact temperatures for consistent results. 800 Series provides bridge element rather than 5th element on Benchmark series.

Easy to clean

Excellent cooktop! Easy to install and clean.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have been using this cooktop for two months, and it works as advertised. I clean it using Bosch recommendations: Vinegar and BonAmi. The BonAmi cleanser removed what I had previously thought to be permanent markings on the burner area. I use my cast iron skillet on it with no problems.

After a couple of months using this cooktop, I have no major complaints. I have cleaned it strictly according to Bosch recommendations, mostly using vinegar. To address the issue of discoloration on the burner area, I have found that cleaning it with BonAmi cleanser ( non chlorine ) does an excellent job of cleaning off those unsightly discolorations, that I had feared might be permanent. I make sure that the bottoms of my cookware is clean before placing on the cooktop. My cast iron skillet works fine on this cooktop. CONTROLS: These are easy to use, and very intuitive. I do use my portable induction cooktop for boiling water, simply because it uses less energy and is quicker. OTW... the cooktop works fine.

Works Great Extremely Fragile
Bought this for our new kitchen and it works brilliantly. My fault here, but I dropped a 4.5 ounce can of cooking spray on it and it broke. The part is replaceable but I have my doubts it will stand the test of time.

Bosch Cooktop
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cooktop was ordered and arrived 6 weeks after order. Actually, this was earlier than it was promised. Installation was quickly completed(45 minutes) and operable. Heating is even with no apparent issues. The boost feature is nice, helping to quicken boiling and faster cooking. Controls are fairly intuitive and easily remembered for operation.
