I'm a carpenter that utilizes a trailer for carring all of my tools. I currently am using a rigid miter saw stand that I keep in the folded position in the trailer, with my saw attached and strapped to the inside of the trailer. I'm on my second rigid stand and the newer one is worse that the first. both units allowed the saw to slide down on the stand and the extension wings NEVER stayed in the locked position. I continuously adjust the saw holder but.....and the extension wings/supports have no adjustment options. My question. Does the Bosch have a sturdy, dependable locking system for the saw? And the sliding extension wings?
Asked by: Ed
I own Bosch table saw with a gravity-rise stand and I love it. I ditched my Delta stand (I gave it to my son-in-law) and installed my Delta compound miter box on this Bosch stand, because it's the only one that is gravity-rise. Easy to do and the saw stays in place. Yes, the locking system is dependable. The wings are adjustable and stay in place. I highly recommend this stand.

Will it mount a Master Mechanic MJ2325B compound miter saw?

Will it mount a Master Mechanic MJ2325B compound miter saw?
Asked by: Kiawe
The stand comes with universal mounting bars. I had no problem mounting my Dewalt 12" sliding miter saw. I think that as long as the holes in the base of your saw are in a straight line, perpenticular to the front of the saw, you shouldn't have an issue.

So if I want to cut 8" off of a 16' 2"x12" can I do it safely with just this stand or will I need additional supports?

Recomended?
Asked by: Josh
No Bosch, it cannot safely cut the end of a 16 foot board. Who checks this stuff? Can Bosch hire individuals who can still do math? The brochure states it extends 103". Josh has a board that is 16 feet long. He wants to cut off 8 inches. If the specifications state the T4B can extend 103 inches. How much will Josh have unsupported? Show your work. 16 ft board x 12 inches a foot = 192 inch board 192 - 8 = 184 inch board Now comes the issue... For arguement sake, let's say Josh is right handed. That leaves the 184 inch board supported by the length of his miter saw table to the left of the blade and the T4B material extension lift to the left. Retracted length is 51.5 inches. This tells the student that the extensions come out 26 inches to either side. (26 +51.5 + 26= 103) Let's say too, that Josh has the Bosch CM12SD (Josh likes his toys) which Bosch says is 24 inches wide and to keep everything easy, let's round up and say that the table supports 12 inches of board from the edge to blade. We are not concerned with the thickness of Josh's kerf. So we have the right end of the 184 inch board supported for 12 inches from his saw blade and supported at 51.5 inches for the extension slide, leaving how much of the board to the left of the support? 184 - 51.5 = 132.5 inches of material off. The table is part of the 51.5 inch measurement as this is a center measurement. Wait Josh! Don't cut that board! It will tip to the unsupported end which means the end of the board near your head will be forced up! Remember fulcrum Josh??? They have to be supported in the middle to balance equally on both sides. Better get a sawhorse or 3rd hand (because I know you will like it and they are cool tools) and support that far end. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Qualcraft-10-ft-Quick-Support-Tool-QS50/203203967 or you can use some cutoffs, cinderblocks....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great stand, but a few flaws I have the gravity rise table saw and love it. So i went with the compound mitre saw stand as well. Only draw back is the small extension arms. When cutting small trim such as cove or shoe, the trim has a tendency to slip off the back edge of arm. Also i had a ridgid stand prior and it had an extension led hidden in the arm to provide stability when extened. This lacks that feature. Another problem i have is it’s overall width when collapsed the stand takes up a lot or room. Overall It’s been a good stand.

It needed a small amount of tweeking to get the side supports set properly so numerous lengths of the same size could be cut. The adjustment work took only a few minutes. very happy with the results. I did have another compound mitre saw my family purchased for me as a Christmas gift. The only problem with that saw was the the adjustment arm stuck out an extra 12", by changing to the Bosch saw, I was able to gain one (1') foot extra. I'm still dialing in the 12" Bosch Compound Mitre saw, I currently have it adjusted to within <1/64", I'm working towards 0.002 or 0.001" for my final adjustment. Got my Sawstop table saw adjusted to 0.001", when I first checked parellism it was 0.020" out, worked on it for a few hours and dialed that baby down, Rating is Great it is kick butt

No more dragging out the saw and saw horses. Very sturdy. His 9 year old saw fits perfect and it is not a Bosch. This stand is heavy and well made. Some reviews complained of the rubber wheels, but my husband seem to prefer the rubber wheels. We live in the country and this moves well from barn to house to garage over small hills, gravel and dirt. Saves storage space since it collapses and stands upright. Convenient, practical, and easy on the back. The only complaint I heard from my husband is the instructions -- the instructions as written installed one of the pieces backwards. My husband had to take it apart and redo it. If you're a handyman, you'll figure it out, but our tip is to notice how it's supposed to look before you follow instructions exactly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very handy stand Not quite as well balanced as my Bosch gravity rise stand with the table saw, but still very easy to use. When collapsing this stand, the miter saw weight makes it want to fold by itself to the point where you need to pay attention and control it; more so than the table saw combo. Not an issue for me just an observation. Still giving it a 5 star rating because I love this stand.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can't pop it up with my 780 DeWalt Chop saw attach First, this is the best miter saw stand I've owned. I had the original hitachi miter saw stand for many years. Switched for the main convenience of leaving my chop saw on the stand. I drops down easily....immediately because of the weight but can't make it past the half way mark as I try to pop it up. Assembled perfectly.

This one does both, but stretches out to support long stock when needed. It was a good investment. Lastly... it was easy to assemble...and i built a cut-off box that slides under the base of the stand to hold wood scraps.
