Looking for a ring nail to fit into this brad nailer gun

Asked by: RB
Friends, I bought my BT 1855 brad nailer several years ago and it has seen a fair amount of usage without any real issues... but it needs to be remembered that this is a lightweight (18 ga.) gun and the nails (brads) are only meant to really hold pieces together while glue sets up.. the brads themselves can hold a fair load, but nothing in comparison to the 15 ga. or even 16 ga. nails.... this gun only uses strips of 'T' headed brads.. for what the gun can do and for its price, i have been more than happy with it...

18-Gauge 5/8 in. - 2-1/8 in. Brad Nailer is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very close to perfect I purchased this gun for a great price at my local Home Depot. I had some trim work to complete and my old gun finally gave up on me. The gun has worked very well for me in the few months that I've owned it. It has not jammed and I appreciate the feature that stops the gun from firing when you are out of nails. My old gun would keep firing until I finally realized it was not shooting nails. I gave it 5 stars but improvements could still be made. I think Bostitch can improve the nail depth dial. It is a little tough to dial in the correct depth since the dial feels lose and it takes several revolutions to see a difference in nail depth. It would be nice for the dial to click or at lease have a bit of tension so it can be dialed in with ease. Overall though I would recommend this gun. The price, weight and performance are all Excellent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from junk x 2 I do remodeling and custom woodworking for a living and have owned and used every kind of nail gun on the market. I bought this gun to replace a accuset by senco that died after 15 years. the first gun wouldn't set nails no matter where you adjusted to or what air setting you had it on. they say you never have to oil it, but at the rate is was leaking in 2 different places it would have ran out of oil in less than a month, it was leaking at the back and around the trigger(quite badly). Took it back , they replaced it gun #2 was worse then the first, every other nail jammed and would shoot two nails. this gun has no front release to un-jam, so you either take the front apart or as the manual says pull it out with pliers, good luck with that exercise in futility, I actually took it back with 2 nails still stuck in it. let them pull 'em out. This is by far the worst experience with a nail gun that I've ever had in 25 years of using them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from inexpensive, broke after 4 small projects I got this as a gift (bought in the store) as my first pneumatic nailer, and I loved it. I was able to build a couple cabinet drawers that needed replacing, and put up some cabinet crown molding. It truly made a 2-person job a 1-person job. After owning it for about a year and using it for the three above-mentioned projects, it died. I'm assuming an o-ring blew out near the trigger based on the symptoms and the troubleshooting guide. I returned it to Home Depot and found it isn't carried in the store anymore, and the customer service associate couldn't find any SKU. Despite this, I was given an exchange credit to buy a different nailer, so I bought the DeWalt 18ga one. When this Bostitch worked, it worked reasonably well, however the plastic covered tip was large enough that it was difficult to get into the little parts of the crown molding and made nailing it difficult. I wouldn't recommend this nailer because mine lasted for only a few jobs, nor would I recommend it for any actual detail work because of the large tip.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish I could select 0 Stars!! I am a professional carpenter. We have tried and tried to use these and they have all broken within the first box of nails. We don't abuse our tools and can't seem to keep one of these things going. I guess I will have to switch brands and hope for better. We do have 6 of these and all have had the same problem. Worst part is Bostitch claims the driver is a serviceable part. (as in the same as a filter or something expected to need replacement) This means they will not return or replace them they charge you to fix them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from nailer or jammer? This gun jams on as many nails as it successfully drives. Hate this gun more than I can say. I would just use it to nail my skull and put me out of my misery.....but it would jam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't go wrong with this gun I've had this gun for about 5 years now and can't begin to guess how many nails I have shot through it. It is tried and true, used and abused. A very very good gun especially for the price! It really deserves 4.5 stars, better than "good" but still below "outstanding" mainly due to the gun will double fire occasionally though not enough to pass on the purchase of such a great tool.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from garbage bought it, tried to use 3/4 brads to put in a piece of quarter round, it was firing the nails back into the magazine. i bought bostitch because i thought they were a good brand. they are doing their brand no favors by selling this gun. im not buying anything made by them ever again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good. Only used it to install an island so far, but I was impressed with it doing that job. Used 2 different length brads and the transition was easy.
