What is the temp. range of this smoker? How hot can it get inside the smoker? I have never used on and am wondering if its like an oven.

I would recommend buying a smaller one than the 39 inch. Mine will not go above 210 deg under perfect conditions when full of meat even though it is on the max setting of 320 deg.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I had problems starting day one. Followed the instructions and it wouldn't power on. Got online a... I had problems starting day one. Followed the instructions and it wouldn't power on. Got online and it told me to check all the connections which caused me to remove some of the panels. In the end I called support and they sent me a new power supply. After that it worked. Still having issues syncing my phone to the device but I really don't need that feature. Then three weeks I saw this unit on sale for $100 off at another store. Tried to get a refund from Home Depot but they wouldn't give me one. I'm hoping in the future the smoker lives up to its name.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New electric smoker Smoker is easy to use. Digital setting for smoke time as well as cabinet time and temperature. Buy the 3 pack aluminum disks as you'll lose a wood biscuit on each smoke cycle. Also suggest getting a dual read out thermometer- a probe for the meat as well as for the cabinet temp. Temps seem to vary. My unit came damaged on the bottom (dropped I assume). Unfortunately didn't notice until I used it the first time. Called HD but advised no recourse once used. So please check it carefully. Look for a small crease or bump out along bottom front below door. Also watch smoke amount. Used to do ribs on Weber with 1 hr smoke. Excellent. Did ribs following recipe -3 hr smoke. Was way to much. Most who ate got severe heart burn. Will stay with ribs on Weber.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Takes too long to heat up Tried to get smoker preheated to 250. Waited 4 hours and 240 was the highest temp reached. That'll work I guess just have to cook it longer and finish on the grill.
