I needed to shut off valves in two of my bathrooms . These were very easy to install and I prefer them over the other full turn valves. They look really good, no leaks and I would recommend them.

Great shutoff valves if you need a compression fitting style valve. Easy to install with a solid, leak free connection, without needing to solder a sweat connection. connects to a standard 3/8" outlet, comes with compression ferrules and nuts. Lead-free made for drinking water connections. Designed, machined and assembled in the USA. The quarter turn style will not seize up when not exercised like a gate valve will. One negative aspect of these valves is they are designed to be in only the full closed position, or full open position.

This is an economical way to purchase some quality ball-valve type shutoffs for installation ahead of your faucets. I really like ball valves since they seem to work perfectly every time, with only a quarter turn, leaving no question if it is tight enough to be fully off. I have not had one seize up over time either, like some other types of shutoff valves. Shutoff valves are usually code-required ahead of faucets in kitchens and bathrooms, at water closets and some other locations. These Brasscraft valves are a quality product and should outlast the old style stem turn valves by many, many years. I also like the plastic jar packaging, since it keeps them clean and maintains the install information for future use.

The 1/2 inch inlet and 3/8 inch outlet with the 1/4 turn knob is great. Lost my computer for a coule days and couldn't get the photo. It is made of high grade stainless steel and turns very easily for quick shut off. Very durable but did not come with instructions but does give a web site you can go to for them. I would recommend you have an idea of what you are doing before attempting this project. It is easy and very direct as I have done this before. Great unit and I do recommend this one.

These valves have let me make quick work of installing sinks, icemakers, dishwashers, panel showers and toilets. Although the product description says they can be used for washers, I believe that this might be an over statement as the 3/8-inch outlet would restrict flow and it would need to be adapted for a hose end fitting of some type—not practical. I have also used these, as well as the straight version, as drain valves for piping that requires seasonal draining. I install a compression nut cap on the 3/8-inch outlet when the valves are closed to address possible inadvertent opening and discharge. The compression connections allow installation on copper without solder and on PEX when a SS tube insert is used. I have used them successfully on CPVC without a problem, HOWEVER, I learned that they are not rated for CPVC and the opinion appears to be mixed. After three years, I have not had any leaks. They can also be rotated for better alignment and retightened, so they stay in place. If you are replacing an existing valve with the same size compression fitting you should be able to use the old compression nut and ferrule (compression ring) and just replace the body. The quarter-turn positive shut-off is its best feature. If you have ever had to service a sink or toilet, and you encounter a multi-turn valve that has not been operated for many years, you will appreciate these valves. Old multi-turn valves are hard to turn and often do not provide a positive shut-off and they usually leak past the stem seal when opened and closed. I ordered the Contractor Pack of 5 which came packaged in a stubby plastic jar—very convenient for installing two sinks and a toilet. I have gotten rid of my stash of multi-turn valves in favor of these. These can be used on hot or cold lines, but the packaging lists a maximum 115 degrees F when used in recirculating systems. Online specs list the maximum hot water temperature in one place at 140 degrees and in another at 160 degrees. They are made in the USA.

These are a quality ball type supply line shut off for use wherever you have a supply line to a faucet. They are 90 degree so most likely would be used where your 1/2 inch pipe comes out of a wall. As with ball style shut offs they are 1/4 turn making it easy to stop the water supply quickly. They are 1/2 inch inlet by 3/8 inch outlet and are compression at both ends meaning they have a brass compression ring which fits over your pipe and then inserted to the valve. The compression ring then seals to the pipe when tightened. They are compatible with copper or PEX pipe, as well as PVC supply lines and braided supply lines. This contractors pack is quit convenient as there are 5 valves per container. The convenience arises in the event you were doing a full bathroom remodel, would typically need 5 shut offs. 2 for the bath, 1 for the toilet and 2 more for the sink basin. And you save money buying them this way rather than individually.

This 5 pack quarter-turn water supply angle stop shutoff valve is perfect to use if you plan on using compression fittings on both inlet and outlet sides. I am glad Home Depot is finally stocking better quality brass shutoffs versus the earlier composite cheap metal and plastic compression shutoffs which for me failed at very extremely alarming rates. Solidly made up to and should hold up way longer than the rubber washer type compression shutoff valves. This 5-pack container comes out way less expensive when purchased in quantity lots such as this.

Standard water line valve for bath and kitchen fixtures
Contractor who built our house put in inferior valves and/or overtightened water lines, which has caused the valves to start failing over time. These are easy to replace, and the 5-pack is an economical way to ensure I've got a valve on hand when I find a new one leaking, so I don't have to wait for my next trip to the hardware store. I do have a complaint not with this specific valve, but rather the fact that Home Depot does not seem to carry the KT line of these valves, which are needed where the valve may be subjected to heat over long periods of time (e.g. where hot water recirculation is used and the hot water is actually going through the valve during recirculation). That there are two kinds of valves is a little annoying in the first place. The price difference isn't that big between the two, and it'd be nice if they just only made the higher-temperature rated one. But I guess with everyone ignoring quality differences and always buying the absolute cheapest thing they can find, BrassCraft has to keep this version in their product line.
