Q:Can I use this backwards on a t valve to my water line where the water line connects to the 3/8" outlet and the 1/2" inlet connects to another adapter to run the water out? Seems like it should but the inlet/outlet makes me question it.

It was very easy to install as I was replacing an older valve. Nice and easy to turn on or off with only a quarter turn of the valve. The valve I replaced needed a couple of full turns to turn the water on or off, and it was leaking a little bit. This valve is under my kitchen sink and controls the water for the dishwasher.

Excellent finish and easy to install. The Brass Craft name has been around since I began in construction and long before that, they make an excellent product and this is no exception. There quality remains unchanged. I really do like the way these are packaged in multi packs, it comes in handy for larger projects and the compression fittings are much easier to install than their sweat in counterparts for tight areas or as a solid replacement when you want a valve that does not spin and stays in its installed position

1/2 IN. NOM COMP INLET X 3/8 IN. OD COMP OUTLET 1/4-TURN STRAIGHT STOP (5-PACK), CHROME-PLATED BRASS. This five pack valves manufactured by BrassCraft are very good replacement or for new construction. This is a straight valve which works best when you have water lines entering through a floor into a cabinet or to service a toilet. The 1/4 turn is the best thing they've done to valves.

Quarter turn chrome straight valve in package of 5 These are the valves you use under the sink for both hot and cold water or for your toilet. The older versions aren't 1/4 turn. You have to turn, turn, turn and most times they leak (you'll get a drip from the valve). Or worse, the valve is frozen and you can't turn the water off. As a owner of many homes, I guarantee you'll need these valves. My recommendation is to buy extras and keep them handy. Make sure you have the right size (compression or pipe thread input and compression out). Make sure you have the right size thread/nut combo. And buy 1/4 turn - they are more durable and they are less likely to leak. And they're easier to use! You also need a water turn off tool, because you have to shut the water off to install these. The compression fittings are not suppose to be re-used, but I use the old one on the pipe end. Why? The new valve comes with a new nut and compression ring, but you have to remove it from the pipe and I guarantee that the copper pipe has expanded (from the original compression nut) so you won't be able to get it off. Yes, you can cut it off, but make sure there's enough pipe to put the new nut and ring on. Or, just use the old one. Over the thirty years I've owned homes, I haven't had one leak. On the other side of the valve, use a new nut and ring. Don't over tighten the nut or you can crack it. I've done that a few times. I can now feel when the threads on the nut and shank are beginning to stretch and I stop. Or, you can turn the water on and if it doesn't leak, you're good. If it leaks, just slightly tighten it. 1/16 of a turn will do it most times. Every homeowner should have these sitting on the shelf for an emergency. Highly recommended and BrassCraft is a quality manufacturer.

I don’t like using compression fittings unless I absolutely have to. I had a couple valves to replace in one of my bathrooms and I was limited on my supply line access and length so these compression connection 1/4 turn straight valves were exactly what I needed. The Brasscraft contractor Pack comes with five valves for use on 1/2” copper pipe. I make sure that my copper pipe is cut square and I clean and de-bur the pipe before I install the compression connection valve. I do tighten these quite a bit to prevent any leaks. Installed easily, no leaks, and 1/4 turn to start or stop water flow. A good quality piece that functions perfectly.

Other than this made my life much easier, what else can I say. With compression joints on both ends and 1/4 turn valve this was a great upgrade. I was in the process of changing out a vanity and the existing old-fashioned water stops we're leaking. It was a great time to not just try to fix the water stops but rather replace them. Taking off the old water stops did not require a torch for me as I had plenty of pipe coming out of the floor. I simply used the pipe cutter to go around as close to the old stops as possible. Clean up the pipe as you would imagine slightly with some emory paper, slip on the nut, then slip on the compression ferrel. Tighten the nut to the proper amount and I was done. I did use stainless steel braided hoses instead of the nut and small compression. Very simple to use and a great idea and it's great that brasscraft makes something to eliminate the need to sweat a valve on. I can't say how great it is to now have a quarter-turn valve underneath the sink. Absolutely fantastic.

The zones are relatively easy to install make sure that you cut the old one off leaving enough room to push design because these are similar to a shark bite the way they hold onto the pipe I am planning on replacing the supply valves on my downstairs bathroom please will come in handy for that they work really good I have no issues with them they seem to work rather well it's cut for push check for leaks make sure you check all national codes before installing things

Good little shut off valves. 1/4turn is the way to go now for ease and quickly shutting off water supply. These are nicely finished in chrome and very smooth operating. Installation is easy using the included Ferrells with the valve. To supply the fixture you can use a plastic or copper line using the compression nut or discard that and use a pre made braided stainless of rubber supply line.
