BrassCraft 1/2 in. Nominal Compression Inlet x 3/8 in. O.D. Compression Outlet 1/4 in. Turn Straight Valve controls water flow to household plumbing fixtures - faucets, toilets, dishwashers, icemakers, washing machines, etc. The straight valve is most often used where the water pipe enters the room from the floor. With a 90° turn of the valve handle, you are able to stop the flow of water leading to the plumbing fixture, allowing for maintenance and repair without shutting off the water to the entire home.

My shutoff for my old refrigerator is in the basement can I use this between the existing supply line and the inlet on the refrigerator? The H D delivery need the shutoff on the same floor behind the unit.
A refrigerator water line is 1/4" OD compression. We do not offer a 1/4" OD compression X 1/4" OD compression water stop. You could use a OR07X C1 (SKU# 247917) 1/2" FIP X 1/4" OD compression outlet with an adapter on the inlet- Part number: 68-4-8X - 1/2" MIP X 1/4" OD compression adapter to connect to the existing 1/4" OD compression ice maker line. Will this outlet work with my flexible hose 3/8 on the sink?
As long as the inlet of your existing flexible water supply is 3/8" OD compression this valve will work. 3/8" OD compression would be considered the most common connection size for water stop to supply line.
What size wrench is needed to tighten the compression nut?
A 15/16" open end wrench or just a standard adjustable wrench will work on the compression nut.
are these valves reusable
Compression stops are not generally reuseable. You would need to replace the compression ring and compression nut if attempting to reuse a stop body. Thanks

1/2" CPVC pipe
Can these be used with a clamp based ring for pex?
This water stop is used on PEX B or crimp ring style PEX tubing.
Can I use this on pvc piping direct?
No, compression is for copper tube or PEX tubing with a stainless steel tubing insert (stiffener). Part Number TS-8X. We do not make a water stop that will connect directly to PVC. My plumber installed new valves coming out of the wall with straight line connections instead of 90 degree. Does this really matter if I have room?
