Corrosion is no match for BrassCraft's COPPER-FLEX water heater connectors. Constructed of seamless copper tubing, COPPER-FLEX water heater connectors are the professional's choice for water heater installations. Featuring an integrated dielectric sleeve, the sleeve isolates dissimilar metals within the waterway, where galvanic and electrolytic corrosion have their greatest potential. This separation provides complete protection against galvanic corrosion that can deteriorate the connector and cause leaks. In addition, the integrated dielectric sleeve eliminates the need to install an additional dielectric union, reducing time and installation costs.
Corrugated copper tube 7/8 in. O.D. x 18 in. L
End connections: 1 in. FIP x 3/4 in. nominal male/ female sweat (7/8 in. I.D.)
No dielectric union needed, the integrated dielectric sleeve eliminates the potential for corrosion and the need to install an additional dielectric union
Requires less torque to seal with a pliable nitrile rubber washer, especially on rough nipple surfaces
Use with electric or gas water heaters or softeners, use only to connect water
Engineered and tested for harsh water conditions
Temperature rating: 40° to 180° F (NSF61 maximum 82° C)
Q:The description of this item says it is a dielectric fitting. Where is the dielectric? The photographs do not show one anywhere. The blue cap in the sweat/soldered end must be a protective cap as it would not survive sweating.

Q:... It is not clear from the photographs where the dielectric is located. In some fittings, the dielectric is located between the tubing material (copper) and the dissimilar FIP/MIP material - brass, bronze, or galvanized steel. Is that the case here?

Q:It is not clear from the photographs where the dielectric is located. In some fittings, the dielectric is a lining inside the fitting to insulate the electrolyte (water) from the tubing material (copper).
Is that the case here?
(I do not think so)
