Product Overview

BrassCraft’s ProCoat stainless steel gas connector is engineered with added safety in mind. The proprietary polymer coating is designed to withstand prolonged exposure to harsh household chemicals, UV rays and salt. ProCoat is applied to the corrugated stainless steel connector using advanced powder-coat technology. Unlike conventional dipped or sprayed coatings, the ProCoat coating is baked directly onto the connector surface at high temperatures to provide a uniform coating over the entire length of the connector. The coating is applied only after the connector has been 100% leak tested, prior to nut and fitting assembly. This process results in the most complete corrosion resistance available.
  • 3/8 in. I.D. (1/2 in. O.D.) corrugated stainless steel with corrosion resistant coating
  • Steel fittings included: 1/2 in. FIP and 1/2 in. MIP (tapped 3/8 in. FIP)
  • ProCoat coating corrosion resistant to harsh chemicals as well as UV rays and salt
  • Use with natural and LP (propane) gases
  • 100% leak tested
  • Approved for indoor and outdoor use
  • Temperature rating: -40° to 150° F
  • Pressure rating: 1/2 psi maximum
  • Designed, machined and assembled in the USA
  • CSA certified

Can this be used on 75000 btu gas fireplace ?

Asked by Mike August 10, 2018

Answers

Hi Mike - No, we would not recommend you use this connector for your gas fireplace. The particular connector would have a flow capacity of 60,500 BTU per hour which would not adequately support your fireplace rating of 75,000. Gas connectors should be sized based upon the appliance gas consumption rate. You should select a connector with a capacity equal to or greater than the appliance input rate. Please give us a call if you have any other questions or need assistance in choosing a gas connector or kit. Our Customer Support Team can be reached at 877-272-7755.

You need to check the size of your gas line going to your dryer. Most commonly is 1/2". Also check your manual for your dryer to see the size to attach to the dryer. I just bought a new dryer and it was a 3/8". The adapter that comes with this hose works for that.

If you just unscrew the flare fittings from the male and female adapters, to remove the hose, then no Teflon is required. Pipe sealant is required for connecting the male and female flare fitting adapters to the existing 1/2" piping.

Needed to replace my gas connector to install a dryer!!
I installed a dryer in a house that my friend just moved into, but the gas valve was high so I had to get a longer gas connector. I’m not very knowledgable on parts and sizes, and the gas valve was 1/2” and my dryer was 3/8 so I had to buy a a part to connect to the dryer. It took me a couple of trips to Home Depot to finally figure it out.

Recently installed a new Rheem 40 gallon water heater. The dimensions compared with the old tank were different. I removed a 42" piece of black iron pipe and used the Brasscraft flexible, stainless steel, connector to connect the gas line. It worked great. Saved cutting and threading a new black iron pipe. The male and female connection couplings made the connection process simple. Great product.

Versatile high quality gas line
I used this line on my gas dryer It flexes easily but still remains sturdy. There is no "whistling" sound from the line which can be common with other lines. The package came with all necessary adaptors. Do not let the double male fitting fool you. There is a female 3/8 threaded connection INSIDE the 1/2 threaded male side that you screw onto your 3/8 inch appliance.
