Questions & Answers

Powerful enough to clean sidewalks & house siding?

Asked by: Sammy
That's what I'm using it for, it will work better for siding once I figure out how to get the soap dispensed, right now I'm applying soap directly to wall then power washing it. Haven't used for sidewalks, but use for filthy dirty horse blankets and sheets and love it.

Can't get power to turn on. What settings need to be set
Asked by: Joxi
I messed up with turning on and off, didn't realize what the icons meant. Finally figured it out and got it working with pressing the right buttons. The only thing I cannot get to function is how to use the soap hose to wash items, but will, hopefully, eventually figure that one out, too!

I am interested in the steam capacity and characteristics of this unit for killing weeds, but only found minor information on how to use the steam functions. Any technical specs would be appreciated.

Asked by: Zymergist
Nicole, While I thank you for your response I believe you misunderstand my question. I am interested in using steam to kill weeds with heat in order to avoid chemicals. If you have no technical information for the steam functions of this unit available to potential customers, why bother to build a unit with steam? I will certainly not be considering a purchase of a unit with no functional information available.

This unit carries a warranty that covers a full one year warranty replacement. If you are within that time frame, I would recommend taking the unit back to Home Depot. If you're just outside of that time frame, please give our customer support center a call at 800-743-4115.

1700 PSI 1.3 GPM 13.75 Amp Electric Pressure Washer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it! I live in a white stucco house in a dry, red dirt town. Throughout the spring and summer it accumulates cobwebs, which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the windy days that paint them all dark red. I used a hose with a pressure nozzle to clean it off before, but I felt like I wasted so much water, especially when we don't have a lot down here to begin with. I wasn't sure water and electricity were a smart mix, but I watched my "cousin-in-law" struggle with his gas-powered pressure washer and thought this would be easier. It is! Admittedly, I haven't used all of the features yet, and not on more than brightening up the look of my house, but for high pressure water at conservation levels, this thing is awesome! The fact that it quiets down when you release the trigger is great on the noise and water waste. And it's fast! I even powered out some old abandoned wasp nests from under the edge tiles on the roof. I might even let my cousin borrow it (if he gives me more meat from his hunts).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Spray Away with Power! The Briggs and Stratton Electric Pressure Washer is great for home cleaning projects...sidewalks, drives, decks, siding, lawn mower decks, pickup truck beds, and really about anything that can take a high pressure spray. It has a 25' hose and a 35' cord to give you plenty of reach. The cord comes with a built in GFI to provide safety. There are 3 nozzle tips...2 for high pressure and one for dispensing cleaner. To reduce noise, the pump only runs when the spray handle trigger is pressed. It has a siphon tube that drops into a container of whatever cleaning solution you might use...this has pros and cons. to other sprayers that have onboard soap reservoirs...an external container can hold more solution for bigger jobs but may not move easily if the sprayer needs to be repositioned. The unit generates strong pressure and will clean stains, mud, dirt, and debris from many surfaces easily. You can count on the Briggs and Stratton name for a quality sprayer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Device I Never Knew I Needed!!! I have often wanted a pressure washer, but never got one because I never knew if I really needed it. Once I got this pressure washer, I am excited to have it. It does everything! I first started using it to clean off some paint drippings that hit a cement walkway near my home. I had tried to old fashioned way of sanding it down. While that worked, it never fully lifted the paint. I went to use this and it worked within seconds. That led me to end up spraying down our entire sidewalk and while this sidewalk is over 70 years old, it looks super clean. No algae. No residues. No soot. No grime from the spills of yesteryear. Nothing! It is great. I then went to a cement slab in the back yard. This foundation was used for an old truck/camper combo and then an RV for many years. We are talking 40 years of oil, grime, soot, etc that accumulated. I would clean the cement about two times a year, but never fully got off some of the debris. After using this pressure washer it is ALL gone. While I don't have eaves, you can easily use the point and shoot gun to clean eaves of leaves. The cord is so long that I brought it through the window and power washed my toilet bowl of upper ring/scum that can accumulate even with regular cleaning. I then turned around did our bath tub to lift all the calcium deposits. I washed our porches and even used it on our wood deck before putting a new coat of water sealer on it. As you can see, you can get in to a real groove with this washer. And the best part is, it is super light weight and all you really do is point this gun and shoot. I am 6'4" and it reaches about 4 inches off the ground without bending over! No back aches! It is very easy to assemble too. Out of the box and fully put together took less than 10 minutes. It is light weight and seemingly durable (made of hard plastic). It comes on wheels and with a handle, but for me, it is a little too low. I am thankful it is light weight enough that I just pick the thing up and move it. The electrical cord is grounded and when coupled with the water hose, it ranges a good 50 feet in coverage. If you need more, just use an heavy duty exterior extension cord. You an go just about anywhere your hose can go. There are three nozzles. One is turbo wash. This is the one you want to use on cement and sturdy surfaces. It puts out a strong blast of water that feels like pin pricks. Another one is for spraying things down. And the last is a beaded shooter spray. There is also a siphon that can be connected for detergents and other solutions. You can not use this with the turbo spray. It also stores easily. It is actually quite small (from what I was expecting). The base is less than one square foot and stands about three feet tall. My only gripe, if there is one, is that there are no wrap around coils for your cords and hoses. There is one that is on the machine, but it is not very useful. I love this washer. I never knew I needed one. But so thankful I have one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for small jobs If you are looking for a pressure washer for all those little jobs around the house this is it. It's very easy to use. It is strong enough to get the small jobs done. I use it to pressure wash the vinyl on my house, the pontoons on my boat, my deck, the wheels on my pickup, my sidewalk, and my driveway. It is made by Briggs and Stratton so you know it's high quality. Once you get used to having this around you can't live without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool compact power washer No gasoline to deal with. No fumes & fighting to start. Just plug in, hook up water & clean. Caution!!! Make sure the power switch is OFF (0 pushed in) before you first plug in power cord. I plugged in power cord to test built in breaker and pump was on from factory and motor started dry. Whole unit is only about 20 lbs and fairly compact even after assembled. Assembly only requires 4 screws that are Phillip head. Included are 3 nozzles, a full set of extra “O” rings and a clean out pick. There are places on the back of unit to store all 3 nozzles, a scabbard on each side for wand and extention and a hanger to wrap the power cord on. You could try and wrap the hose here but mine would not stay. Sadly there is no room on the hanger for both or a separate hanger for the hose sssoooo I just wrapped mine around the handle. A soap pick up hose is attached and needs to be kept up and out of the way so I just keep it up on the high pressure hose rack. Now how well does it work? I like that the motor stops running almost as soon as you let off the trigger. You can answer the phone or talk with someone without having to turn of an engine. It works fairly well considering it is so light weight. I was very happy with the results. The problems I found were; The high pressure hose is very stiff under pressure and even when not under pressure. Typically such hoses are difficult, or I should say cumbersome to wrap up or straighten out. It takes a lot of twisting and turning. You also need to be careful where you set the unit because it is so light you could pull it off a porch or step. But then it is easy to move around and store. Fair trade off for me. A few things I do not like at all; 1)The wheels. They are very loose on the axle and wobble terribly making it a little awkward pulling it around. A little more engineering and quality here would have been nice. I just pick it up and carry it any way. 2) The trigger lock button. It is hard to push with thumb in part because of it’s location and I have big hands, and in part because the thumb action is more sideways, again because of it’s location.
