Questions & Answers

Can I order parts for this model?

Hose from where the water goes in to the pump, and is there a parts list?
Asked by: Wally
I was told NO I could not order parts. Used my pressure washer for 45 minutes and the plastic fitting hose connection broke. Now I have a worthless power washer that I thought would be a good investment. I would not recommend this to anyone.

detergent fails to mix with spray. i have tried adjusting the water supply pressure. I am using the correct nozzle. Any other solutions?
Asked by: Don
If your using the correct setting on the nozzle and nothings siphoning up out of the detergent, there could be a blockage in the chemical injection unit. I would recommend taking a pin or needle and poking in the chemical injection kit. There should be a loose ball bearing, if the ball bearing is stuck in place, this will most likely be the cause of the detergent not working.

We purchased this pressure washer and after only using it twice the part that connects the pressure hose to the machine broke. The Operators Manual page 8 shows this as part F - High Pressure Outlet. This is a piece of cast aluminum just under 4 inches in length. It is designed to be able to screw on and off the machine. This piece snapped into 2 pieces. This piece cannot be ordered or replaced. I called Briggs and Stratton for help with possibly finding a replacement part for my now worthless pressure washer. I was advised by Briggs and Stratton parts specialist this piece can not be replaced. After explaining again that this was only used twice, the representative put me on hold to check with a supervisor. When the representative returned to the call , he advised me I would need to buy a new machine. I would highly recommend NOT to purchase this pressure washer or any pressure washer made by Briggs and Stratton.

There is absolutely no support for the product once the warranty period expires and there is no service network should something go wrong which it will. I really liked the product from the standpoint of it being easy to use. Unfortunately the internal hose clamps broke after my warranty expired and there is no way to purchase replacement parts and no service network to support the product. I took it to one of the local Briggs & Stratton service dealers and I was told to just throw it away. I called to Briggs & Stratton support center and also was told that there was no way to purchase the simple hose and clamp parts needed to repair this machine. After getting only about 4 hours worth of use, I was extremely disappointed. They should not sell a product which they provide no support for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from powerful pressure washer I pressure washed our house with a gas powered pressure washer about 18 months ago. There were some black spots of gunk where a cottonwood had shaded our house, and the gas powered washer couldn't remove them. This Briggs & Stratton took off 90% of what the gas powered washer had left. It did a nice job with a lot less noise. There are still some black spots - see attached photos, but the B&S removed more than the gas powered washer, and it was easier to use. I used the B&S on some power steering fluid stains, and it didn't do much - see attached photos. The B&S took off at least some of the mildew on the stairs to our deck - see attached photos. I don't think it blew off any paint. It also lightened or removed stains on an outdoor table with a stone or masonry top. The pressure hose kinked on me as I was trying to stow it after use. The washer took about 30 minutes to assemble, and assembly was easy. The B&S is small and easy to move. It takes up less space in the garage than a gas powered washer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy assembly and operation. This pressure washer required some assembly but it was easy to do with the instructions. Once I started using this pressure washer, I couldn't stop. Cleaned my whole deck and lots of my limestone exterior. I got it all done in a day and had no issues. I like that the nozzle has multiple settings and that you don't need to actually change to nozzle tip to get a different spray pattern. I also like that when you release the trigger the motor stops. It's quiet and easy to move around. The power cord is 35' long and the hose is 26' so there's enough length there that you can position it in the area you want and not have to move it much. I didn't put any cleaning fluids in the unit because I didn't want to spray chemicals around my plants. I did spray some cleaning solutions by hand on some mildew areas before I used the unit. I can't say how durable this unit will be over time cause I have only used it two different days but so far I'm happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slick, Slick, Slick! First, I can't believe how simple this was to assemble - If I could do it without making mistakes or saying nasty words, believe me, it's simple to set up. There are seven spray patterns and you have a choice of high pressure or low, shower like pressure. I can tell you, it does a great job on the algae that grew on our deck making it so slippery and unsafe. I chose NOT to use any soaps or solutions mostly because I prefer natural cleaning products, so I mixed up some vinegar and baking soda in a spray bottle and spritzed it on the steps and all the green stuff I could see, and let it set up for about 20 minutes (spritzing several times). Next step, just 15 minutes later, it's all gone. No chemicals that could damage the machine or the grass and flowers ever used, just water. This pressure washer should give many years of reliable service. This unit is squat and sturdy, with the main body sitting on the wheels so tipping is not an issue. Don't yank on the hoses to drag it around though, walk it to where you need it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice light-duty power washer I saw a whole lot of reviews of Briggs & Stratton electric power washers before ordering this one, and frankly, they weren't very positive. Many reviewers mentioned hoses bursting inside the machine. Well, I've now used this machine for two 30-minute cleanings, and I haven't had any issues with malfunctions. It has worked just fine. This model is a dual-mode machine, which can either deliver 1800psi at 1.3gpm, or 100psi at 4gpm. It was a little confusing researching it, because there seemed to be two different labels applied to the machine's handle in stock photos, suggesting that there was both a 1.3gpm version and a 4gpm version. That may have been true in the past, but this machine is clearly capable of both high-pressure/low-flow and low-pressure/high-flow. You use high-pressure for cleaning, and low-pressure for spreading cleaning agent, which is basically the equivalent of shower pressure. It's actually really nice that this relatively low-cost machine has a reservoir for cleaning solution, which other similarly-priced machines do not. It unfortunately doesn't have two tanks, which would allow you to both apply cleaning solution in one area while rinsing another area. You must use up your cleaning solution before rinsing. I used both a hydrogen peroxide cleaning agent and the Krud Kutter brand of cleaning agent. I did not, however, use bleach, which is probably the most effective, but also the most toxic. It can also damage power washer valves, or so I've read. I think if you're looking to do a bleach power washing, you probably want a higher-powered device, because you probably have a big job to do! I've included some photos of the machine both in use and packed up, as well as a before and after photo of a concrete patio that was overgrown with moss. Here are my observations given my experience: (1) When all the hoses and cords are attached, the machine is incredibly hard to maneuver. You'll have the tension of the wand's coiled up hose, your own garden hose, plus the 26-foot electric power cord. Basically, it becomes entangled pretty easily. Also note that the manual recommends that you not use extension cords for the electric plug, which will definitely limit its use for getting far reaches of a driveway or other areas far away from the home electric supply. (2) If you're really diligent about it, you can pack this machine up to look fairly neat with all its accessories and hoses, but I could never get it to look quite as neat as in the stock marketing photos! (3) I was able to remove strips of moss from concrete fairly easily, but large areas of moss are a lot harder to deal with, as the high-pressure mode shoots such a narrow blast. Because this machine cannot actually deliver both high-pressure and high-flowrate, I think it's really best viewed as a light-duty model. I tried using it on my wood deck, and it just couldn't provide enough spray to actually get the deck clean. It would "paint stripes" where the tiny blast of water would cut through the grime, but ultimately, it just didn't work to clean large areas, because the high-pressure blast is too narrow. It would be like cleaning a plate with a toothpick. Yeah, you could do it, but it would take forever!
