Q:Can this tree be cut and capped at 8 to 1- 10 feet in height or will that harm the tree?

Answer This Question

A:  Lots of variables for these trees. Is it indoors or out? I have had mine for just over a year. Indoors in the winter and outdoors in the warm weather. Its a slow grower in a pot so be cautious when trimming. If you are in a warmer climate and are planting it outdoors you have more leeway.

A:  You can prune this tree to maintain a smaller size. It'll promote more branching within the tree.

A:  About 20FT tall. I bought the Mexicola avocado tree around    October 2021. It’s July 2022 and the avocado is already bearing avocados. It has about 8 avocados. In my area Temperatures drop to around 28* and highs around 105 and my avocado tree is doing good. I’m happy with this variety.

A:  Hi Brenda, If it remains in a pot and grown inside during the cold weather, which I am doing with mine, I think the max is about 6 ft but that would take a while and require ideal conditions. Mike

I ordered one avacodo tree to see the quality I'll get. I got a avocado tree that looks like something from the Charlie Brown Christmas tree cartoon. It's small weak and leaves are dead when it arrived. I try to call and email for explanation. No reply

Per the description, this avocado tree: 1) "Grows anywhere in the US as a patio plant (outdoors, thrives in growing zones 8-11)", and 2) is:"Cold hardy growth down to 20°", As we are in southern Oregon in USDA zone 8B I was very eager to get this planted and growing. The plant was received in early June, and was very well packaged and healthy. After being planted out it grew further and looked very promising going into winter. Though winter was fairly mild, and overnight temperatures stayed above freezing and did not go any lower than the mid-twenties, the tree lost all its leaves and proceeded to die back severely. While there are some buds to be seen, this tree is clearly not viable in the advertised zone 8B. At this rate it will never cast fruit, and so it will be replaced with a more-hardy fruit tree.

They arrived well packaged and un damaged. The trees look healthy with green foliage. We planted them over a month ago, it is winter here so they haven’t grown yet, but they are still looking just as they arrived. We live at 40* north latitude on the coast and excited to see how they do!

I just received my little avacado plant, and I understand that is had no sun or water during transit of atleast 5 days, but it looks very dry and sad, hopefully it won't die. I transferred it to a 5 gallon cloth pot and cross my fingers. I love Avacodos and look so forward to growing my own.

The best, healthiest, most beautiful avocado tree!!! Ever since I found out that you could grow an avocado tree in the hot desert, with a little care and planning, I have wanted one. It is beautiful. Arrived in great shape, packaged with care. They surround the tree with crumpled paper, and sturdy cardboard, so the tree arrives safely. There was cardboard and a plastic bag over the dirt, to keep it in place, which worked perfectly. My avocado tree was three (3) feet tall, when it arrived. It arrived in a 1 gallon, 9 inch tall pot. Good sized. It arrived beautiful and healthy, despite temperatures being a bit hotter than I expected. It lost a few leaves in transit, which is to be expected, but it was still extremely green, full, and healthy. It already has new growth, and looks amazing!! I highly recommend this avocado tree to everyone... even in Arizona!! It is beautiful! I love my Brighter Blooms avocado tree.

Brighter Blooms certainly knows how to prepare this tree for shipping. The pot was filled to the brim with good soil. A thick cardboard circular piece with a center opening was covering the soil which did not spill out at all while in transit. A few leaves didn't make it but the plant was in good shape. A comparison of photographs from the date it arrived with pictures taken 5 days later reveal promising new growth. We are cautiously optimistic that at some time in the future we will harvest delicious avocados.
