A: Hello Darlene. Thank you for your question. This is a bit of an unusual question. By design this, dethatcher will pull thatch up out of your grass by the tines springing action. You can set it low enough to scarify the surface of the dirt as well. I do not think this equipment would meet your expectations to break up manure but if you try it let us know how it did! If you have any questions. Please call customer service at 877.728.8224.
A: Giuseppe, Thank you for the question. The DT-40BH Dethatcher requires a hitch plate. The S120 John Deer mower/tractor does have a hitch plate. Yes, the DT-40BH will work. The DT-40BH is sold with a universal hitch pin designed to easily attach the Dethatcher to your lawn mower/tractor. If you have any questions, please contact customer service at 877-728-8224. You can also email us at: customer email@example.com.
A: DZED, Thank you for your question. A dethatcher would not be suitable for use on gravel. Perhaps you are looking for a box scraper with a scarifier bar? These are often used on driveways to level gravel. You will need a sleeve hitch, sold separately, on your tractor or ATV but recommend that you look at the BS-381BH or the BS-48BH Box Scraper for this purpose. Please let us know if you have any questions by contacting the Customer Service Team at 877-728-8224 or by email at, firstname.lastname@example.org.
A: Sorry, no for both questions. It may be attached to your SxS/ATV tow bar, but pulling it at higher speeds to get it to the food plot will most likely destroy the wheels. More importantly, it is designed to be towed behind a lawn mower to dethatch grass so it can be bagged and removed. It is not a tiller (or a disc), meaning it will not break up or "turn" the soil to keep the nutrients in the ground.
A: Mark, Thank you for the question. As Frank mentioned in the community answers. He is exactly right. This machine is used to remove thatch and can be set to scarify the soil to get the deeper thatch. It will not prepare the ground for planting.
