This filter comes with pre-installed quick connect fittings that I'm not familiar with but I was hoping it also came with the receiving connectors that I could connect somehow to my copper line going to my ice maker. It doesn't. The pre-installed connectors are removable and what you are left with are standard female threaded 1/4 inch holes in each end of the filter. The existing compression fittings on my copper line have 1/8 inch male threaded ends so I got two 1/8" to 1/4" adapter bushings and I had to go pretty heavy with Teflon tape (10-15 times around) to get the connections to the filter to not leak. The filter seems to be of good quality but if I had known it was going to be so difficult to get it to fit my setup, and having to buy extra parts, then I would have bought a different one. The attached picture is a closeup of the supplies connectors after I removed them.

This filter was easy to install with my quick connect features and no leaks. I was concerned since the ge and the hdx models were no longer made..I would recommend it so far.

Great replacement filter for an inline filter setup. I used to purchase a similar GE filter in-store at the Home Depot, but it appears the stores (at least in my area) no longer stock it. This unit has the same quick-disconnect fittings as the GE did, so my changeover was a snap. My water qualtiy and pressure are similar, if not better than the GE. I'm guessing that since this is a Brita filter, the water quality should be better (?). So far I have been very happy with this product.

The product is probably fine, but we'll never know since the handy "quick-connect" (inlet side) on our existing plumbing supply line decided to break when we went to connect the new filter and we could not find replacement quick connects at either Home Depot or several competitors. Have to report that the so-called "plumbing guys" at HD didn't seem knowledgeable or interested enough to help us. We ended up abandoning the filter and re-coupled the line at that spot. So it is curious that HD (a "hardware store") would stock quick-connect filters, but not the requisite quick-connects themselves. It seems they were in stock a few years back, but it seems inventories have been reduced and there is now a stock solution: "You should contact the manufacturer." Sad, as the saying goes.

        This is an exact replacement
I try to order this model when I can find it! Perfect fit, doesn't leak, and is thicker/heavier than cheaper models. It includes the male ends already attached, which is the exact model it is replacing. Keep the female ends connected to your water supply.
