Honestly, my only complaint with this heater is that I wish you could choose voltage at purchase, rather than having to reconfigure it at install. The instructions aren't very clear for a DIY. Otherwise, it works well for a small space

We had an old kitchen with a very large steam radiator under the sink. It must have been state of the art back in the 1930's. My contractor recommended this toe heater for under the cabinet under the sink. I balked, but he won. So, we capped off the steam to the kitchen, and now this toe heater does a good job of keeping the kitchen warm and the pipes from freezing. I make sure that the thermostat is set so that the heater does not have to overwork. It goes on and off, but only during the coldest weather. The kitchen is well insulated, and my main concern is to make sure the pipes don't freeze on the most bitter cold days. As a matter of fire safety, I use this heater well within its limits. We have had it working for almost 10 years, and so far no issues. I guess it's about time I pulled it out and made sure there are no dust bunnies developing inside the heater.

Research:
We've been trying to find a solution to our cold Master Bathroom for some time. It seemed we settled on using either a small space heater, or a wall mounted flat panel heater. One day I was browsing through a search on Bathroom and Kitchen style heaters and came across this heater. The style and function of this heater seemed to be what we were looking for.
After reading through the specs and reviews of all related Kick Space heaters, I decided upon this brand and model. I know about the Broan name and their reputation for quality products, unlike some of the other manufactures of similar heaters I've never heard of. The majority of owners reviews were favorable, and I didn't come across anything that owners negatively mentioned that steered me away from this model. I would tend to chalk up a few of the negative reviews to improper installation.
Installation:
I measured the space under our Bathroom vanity where I wanted to mount the heater and there was enough room. I purchased this heater along with an Intermatic E1235 Electronic Wall Countdown Timer. This timer fit the bill due to the time selections being 15-30-45-60-120 minute selections, and enabled us to turn on/off the heater from the comfort of standing up rather than getting on your knees and looking under the vanity each time you wanted to make a change. I pretty much knew having to do that every time would not fly with my wife. Most other timers offer too short of selections such as 5 minutes up to 30 or 45 minutes. As far as I'm concerned, any setting less than 30 minutes is not really accomplishing much as far as heating up a bathroom.
This heater comes factory wired for 240/208 v.a.c. The included instructions have a section to convert the heater to run on 120 v.a.c. which I intended to do. The conversion process is a bit sketchy, in that, if you just read through the procedure you may have some difficulty as I did trying to identify exactly what component they're talking about that I'm supposed to remove or install a wire from. The wording description doesn't quite match up with the diagram labels. I found myself going back and forth between the before and after diagrams before I finally "got it". The vague instructions would be the only negative thing I would have to say about this heater. Everything you need to convert from 240 to 110 is included.
Connecting this heater up to the wall timer was pretty straightforward. The timer instructions made the connections very easy to follow. Fitting all the wire nut connections within a single gang box was a little tight, but everything safely fit. Just ensure that you leave yourself at least 2 extra feet of electrical wire in the event you have to pull out the heater.
Observations:
Some reviewers have indicated this heater runs loud or noisy. What I found is this heater runs just like a heater with an integrated fan to distribute the heat would run...nothing more, nothing less. For me, I'd say it runs a little quieter than my bath exhaust fan, which really isn't loud. What I did notice however, is because the heater is mounted within the kick space, the resonance produced when the heater runs is somewhat amplified because the space it's mounted into is hollow so I'm not sure how one would minimize that. For both my wife and myself, it's a tradeoff we don't find annoying once our feet hit a warm floor.
We found the easiest method of comfort is to turn on the heater several minutes ahead of time to heat up the bathroom, then when you walk in, it's nice and warm.
Conclusion
We are delighted to have found this product, and very pleased with the desired results we now enjoy.
Well worth the purchase, wife approved, and highly recommended.

Not noticeable, except for sound
Have had just installed, oh my,sounds as if a small plane is going to take off. I'm going to leave it installed. Will adjust so I turn on, not let thermostat do it. My 30lb Icelandic Sheepdog won't come in kitchen. I can hear in den. Had hoped it would be quiet.

No trim so rough opening is visible
The front grill of this is integral to the unit. That means that the edges of the opening you make for the can are exposed. I ordered this to use in a location where it will be visible it won't work for me for this reason. So much better to have a separate grill cover that covers the rough opening like the competitor does. Rated 1 for aesthetics. I realize that doesn't matter for most toe kicks, but it does for some.

Work OK....but the whole unit dosen't put out heat only a couple sections do and its a pretty loud UNIT which gets on your nerves when its ON. I would not reccomend this one to anyone, although it DOES heat up the room, I would still buy something different just because of how loud it is when its ON.
