My master bathroom was a little drafty and I needed a heater to warm the space up before I showered. It does exactly what I need. I did purchase the 1500 watt for that purchase. You might want to buy the switch to control each one separately.

Excellent product and would highly, highly recommend. The unit it quite and performs excellent. The instructions are very clear and for older installed units, make sure you change the “wall switch” and follow the connection instructions exactly as displayed (***hire a certified electrician for this part). My wife was very happy with this new unit and this sealed the deal for me. The only thing that one may consider if replacing an existing unit and sheetrock is already in place; is to not throw the old support brackets away. To keep from damaging the ceiling sheetrock since the support brackets that came with the new product was designed to be nailed/screwed to the bottom of the ceiling joyce, I used the support brackets from my old unit that screwed directly into the joyce once I had the unit in place and everything secured perfectly. What would make this a perfect installation unit for a DIY person is if NewTone designed a universal support bracket that would give the installer at least 2 options to secure unit to ceiling joyce (either directly to the side or under the bottom of the ceiling joyce). Overall, I still give this unit 5 ⭐️ ‘s

Great unit, but not made for easy retrofit
This is a really nice unit but as the earlier reviewer states, the included mounting brackets are really only designed for new construction. This fact made quite clear in the installation instructions. I replaced a builder grade vent fan with it, and find it considerably quiter than the old fan; the sound is not that loud in my opinion. You know it’s on when running, but there is no discernable vibration or undue noise. I am mechanically inclined, so I did get it installed with considerabe work, but not as per the included directions. The addition of the light and heater functions is a great addition. Our bathroom is on the larger side, and the heater has no problem warming it up pronto. I just wish I had gotten online first to look over the instructions, as I may have chosen another offering.

I just finished in stalling my Nutone bathroom heater, light and exhaust fan. And the wife loves it... I can turn on just the lights ,exhaust fan or the heater . Here in Texas when we need the heater to take the chill off ot works great. It's sure a lot after when we take the grand-baby a bath. I had to some time have to put a portable heater in the restroom. And it was not safe with the extension cord. Now, all i have to do is flip a switch and the heater is on. i bought a standard 3 way light switch at home Depot . Take a look at my pictures. by the way i shot my Infrared Laser Thermometer and i get 123.8 F

When I ordered the exhaust fan, I thought it would come with an electrical switch. It did not. Very disappointing. I had to go to a big box hardware store and find one that was appropriate. This in and of itself is a reason for me to have not bought this item. However, my mistake, so I went ahead and installed the fan anyway. The install took the better part of a day and was one of the more difficult projects that I have undertaken. I recommend you have this professionally installed if you are at all uncomfortable with electrical wiring. Some installations, if starting from scratch, will require ductwork and cutting holes in your ceiling or side of the house. Fortunately I was replacing an existing unit so the ductwork was there for me. Now that the fan is installed I am quite pleased with it's performance. The light is bright on its own, the exhaust fan removes humidity quickly, and the heater is a real bonus on cold mornings. Loss of a star for not including an electrical switch.

Two important things to keep in mind before purchasing this product: You must have a 20A circuit available for this fan as it draws 14A with all functions operational. And it's quite large, so make sure you have space in between your joists for it. Ideally, installation will work best if you have access to the ceiling from above. However, it is possible to finagle it into place without access provided that you have the wiring and duct work in place from a previous installation. The fan and heater are easily removed from the housing. This can allow you to mount the housing and attach the duct work if you cannot access the unit from above. Once the housing is wired and the duct work is installed and the housing is mounted, the fan and heater can very quickly and easily be reinstalled. The fan operation is fairly quiet, but I found the heater to be a little loud. It is also possible to safely insulate around the unit... a must in northern climates if the attic is above it, and a good thing for sound proofing to do if there happens to be living space above it.

This NuTone 110 CFM Ceiling Bathroom Exhaust Fan with Light and 1500-Watt Heater is a great product. I replaced an older bath fan, light, and heater that was very noisy. Luckily the wiring for the switches matched up but I did have to make some cuts from the round hole to a square hole. The instructions were brief but clear and straightforward. The heat direction is adjustable and the vent fan is easy to tap into existing vent systems to move the humidity out of the bathroom. The unit comes with rails that attach to the ceiling joists, they’re adjustable to fit the width needed. I have noticed on other models with heaters that the heat fuse located on the heating element will blow after about a year’s operation. So, make note of the model number before you seal it up and be prepared to get a replacement heating element for the next winter. I recommend putting an LED bulb in for economics and longevity. Manufacturer Warranty is a 1 Year Limited.

The nutone ceiling fans is the upgrade every bathroom needs. This is NOT one of those no-attic assess needed exhaust. You have to go into the attic to nail or screw the support brackets. It took me about 2 hours to install. I had to make a bigger hole in my bathroom ceiling so that took time but for an expert DIYEr perhaps 90 minutes. The light is definitely bright and a great addition to the our bathroom. The heater is differently hot. It is loud (the heater) so FYI. I have all three (light, fan and heater connected) so its a bit loud. You have the option to separate the light/exhaust and heater which I will later on, but this unit will pay dividends (with the wifey) during the winter and every time we get out of a warm shower.

Nutone is a brand that I have been dealing with since the late 70's. Still in operation since then is my Nutone garage door opener and a heat-vent unit in our master bathroom. Following provided maintenance instructions has certainly contributed to that longevity. Things have changed since then, but built in quality and design have not. This heat-vent-light unit is simply terrific. While I didn't use all the provided mounting hardware because of a lack of access in the attic, I was able to fairly easily accomplish the task at hand from below the ceiling. After getting everything connected I could not believe how quiet the fan is. The heater is a bit louder...maybe because it blows instead of sucks...but still perfectly acceptable. The grill is a big improvement over iterations past: much more substantial and stylish. Codes probably dictate this, but the electrical junction box is now plenty big for making up required connections. The one word of caution is that the sheet metal parts are SHARP. All-in-all I am very happy with this fine product.

This NuTone fan/light/heater is a very nice unit and well worth consideration if an all-in-one type of unit is needed. Of course it is larger than a unit with only one or two of the three functions contained in this unit but it is still fairly compact (see the picture of the inside showing the fan, heater, light). The installation does require access from above but the actual mounting appears to be very straight forward (although the instructions are fairly high-level and do not provide a lot of detail). A three circuit switch needs to be purchased separately to operate all three functions. The house wiring must be a 20 amp dedicated circuit and accommodate three circuits from the switch to the unit. While I haven’t actually installed this unit yet, I did set it up on a bench test to be sure it worked and to test the vent fan and heat functions. I was pleased with the vent fan level of quietness of 2.0 Sones with the air flow of 110 CFM. The 1500 Watt heater and its dedicated fan worked well for this type of heater. This unit is a replacement to my existing bath fan so the ducting is already in place. It takes a standard size light bulb base (E26) which provides many options for brightness. A recommended unit.

It's a lot of money for a bath fan, but this thing has chops. 110 CFM works for most room sizes and the 1500 watt heater is pretty serious. The housing is relatively big at 16" long, but it easily fits between standard joists and they designed the vent location smartly. You'll need three control switches if you're wiring the light separately from the fan. (Rather than install a new switch box, I just wired the fan light to my room light circuit.) The heater requires a dedicated 20 amp circuit and they mean it. Most fans are piggybacked to the same circuit as the room lights and GFI outlet. But you'll definitely trip the GFI or your main panel circuit breaker if you run a hair dryer on this heater circuit. The exhaust side is straightforward with a squirrel cage fan. Heater integration in a closed unit (and often insulated in the ceiling) is trickier because it's producing serious BTUs and they had to assure unit components are protected from the heat. The pic of the unit interior reflects sturdy insulated metal work and a husky exhaust port. I'm not sure what kind of plastic the grill is made from, but it has to be resistant to a really hot air flow. There's a directional adjustment on the heated air flow although it's worthless - count on air pretty much pushing straight down. The manual specifies a 9' max horizontal ceiling height for effective warming, and that make sense given that the heater will only push the air down so far before it rises to the ceiling again. To be candid, a 150W infrared heater bulb fan is more comfortable when I'm coming out of a shower, and it's instant warmth with 1/10th of the heater fan's power draw. Aesthetically, it's big, but not obnoxious. The grill and light bezel are very contemporary. It will fit right into any upscale bathroom.

Wonderful combination of exhaust fan, light, and heater.. My downstairs half bath is always cold in the winter even with the furnace running..(far end of the house).. So this is a perfect 3in1 combo for this bathroom.. Its fairly quiet, puts out just the right amount of hear, and the added light is great..The grill is nothing special a flat white that blends in very well with my white ceiling. easy to keep clean and remove to clean the inside when needed..Nutone makes great products so I am sure this will last for years..

This thing does it all. It's a bathroom light, with a fan, and on those cold winter nights/mornings, it also has a heater built right in. For installation, the box is about 16" by 10.25", but the face plate that covers it is about 19" by 14". It should fit perfectly between your roof rafters, and you'll need a dedicated 20 amp circuit since it has a heater function. It looks nice, and the face plate covers minor issues that might arise while making the opening in your bathroom ceiling. You'll need to buy your own light bulb, but it'll take anything up to and including a 100 watt (or equivalent) bulb. You'll also need to install your own vent lines. My contractor did it for us. He used PVC pipe, and connected it to a roof vent that you can get anywhere. The fan and heater are on the quieter side at 2 sones. We ordered ours online. It arrived on time, was packaged well, and was not damaged in shipping. We've had great experience with NuTone bathroom fan/light combos, this is our third. From experience, you'll probably need to clean dust out the grill in the vents probably once a year. The process is pretty simple, after you pop out the lens covering the light bulb with a flat blade screw-driver, there is a single nut that holds the grill in place.

For the price ($197.00) it is noisier than expected, still not convinced that this is normal sound level. The heater is very quiet but the vent is much louder. Returned the 1st one I bought for noise level and vibration reasons. The second one had no vibration but the vent is still noisy. In comparison to the vent only AERN110 (110 cfm) which can not be heard unless you get directly under it and still is very quit. The 765HL is multiple times louder.

We appreciate your comments on the 765HL heater, fan, light unit. This model is rated at 100 cfm's with 2.0 sones. The AERN110 is rated at 110 cfm's with 1.0 sones. Your 765HL ventilation fan should not be very loud at only 2.0 sones, but it is not as quiet as the AERN110 either. We would recommend you give our Technical Support team a call at 888-336-6151 and we can try to assist you more.

Installed for a remodel of rectangular 6 x 12 hallway bath into a roll-in shower for wheelchair. Flipped floorplan, closed off hallway door (which became corner for roll-in shower), and opened up side for WC access, then other side had sink at outerwall below window, toilet beside. Our project was completed October 2016, which is when we moved in. Used during winter and now summer. Fan is loud, but that is fine. Heater works very well! The contractor placed in a triple switch plate. One switch controls the exhaust out with light, the other does strictly the heat (no light). The 3rd switch is for the potlight over the sink. We also have a pot light over the shower, so lighting is covered when the heat switch is on. Thus far, we are very happy with this unit and am considering something similar for updating the 2nd bathroom (which is smaller).

I highly recommend this product. It is an excellent combo exhaust fan/heater/light for a shower install job. Although there was one minor issue with the installment, I rated this product 5 stars based on its cost, CFM rating, and overall combined benefits. In a 4 ft. X 4 ft. shower, the Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) rating of 100, is quiet; and just loud enough as a good diagnostic check to enable listening for the exhaust fan and heater are both fully operational. The heater is a much-welcomed benefit during the winter months. NOTE 1: the heater wiring must be on an independent dedicated 20-amp circuit with its own wall switch. The fan and light are on a 15-amp circuit. For the exhaust fan, a Lutron Countdown Timer switch, model number: Maestro MA-T51H-LA (see attached photo), set to 10 minutes, is plenty of time for a good body scrub. So, just before getting into the shower, press the countdown timer once. After getting out, the fan continues to run as it removes excess moisture in the air until the timer shuts off. NOTE 2: The plate that sits above the lightbulb, must be installed prior to inserting the bulb. For some weird reason, the screw that came with the equipment--was simply too short, and could not secure the plate. I solved that problem with a 1 inch Phillips Head Screw Post (see photo), which are available online. WARNING: unless, you very knowledgeable, and comfortable with installing this equipment, I highly recommend having a well-qualified, very knowledgeable, certified, licensed, bonded, and insured contractor or electrician install this product for you in your home or business facility to give you that added peace of mind of safety and security. Best of luck with your project.

Great exhaust fan with good Heat !!!
This is a great heater/exhaust/light combination.,,, Made to fit between the Joists for easy installation, as well as coming with sliding brackets for additional means of attachment. Came in a sturdy well packed box that assured no damage to the product. Installation was simple as I was using it to replace a previous heat/fan/light combbo unit. 1. shut off electricity to unit (test it) 2 remove old exhaust fan and attach new unit to old exhaust fan hose 3. wire electrical 4. mount as needed 5. insert light bulb, install cover This is a nice unit, Checking it woith my Decibel meter was as follows Heat 43db @ 6 feet 54 db @ 6 inches Exhaust 38 db @ 6 feet 38 db @ 6 inches Normal conversation is about 53 db. Remember all sound measurements were taken with the cover off sitting on my tablesaw, So once it is properly installed it should be much quieter. The instructions were clear, concise and well written. This project I would rate a 4 for difficulty You will need, Drill, Bits, Keyhole saw, wire stripper, pliers and screwdrivers and some wood screws, wire nuts and electric tape,.

Works nice but a couple cautions
I bought this for installation as part of an ongoing bath remodel in an older home The unit is quieter than the other, older Nutone we have in another bath, but not by a real lot. That may have some to do with the fact that I had to engineer my own mounting system instead of using Nutone's. I do like the directed heat feature; very helpful in getting more heat to the floor rather than just near the ceiling as the older or cheaper units do. As with all Nutone units, the light bulb is in a recessed housing, so if, like me, you are replacing a fixture that allowed the light to hang down farther for 360-degree light, you will not get as much room lighting as you had before. I was aware of this when I bought. A couple notes for installers: 1.) I was surprised to find out Nutone does NOT include switches with its fans anymore. For nearly $200, I assumed I would get a switch like I did when I bought an $80 Nutone a few years back. Nope. I live in the country. This made necessary a 50-mile round trip to buy an $18 Broan Nutone P66W switch. Get yours while at the store. They are located next to the fans. Even though the Home Depot rep told me they had none when I called ahead, I found them quickly once in the store. 2.) This unit is not well engineered for new old work. In other words, if you are putting the unit in an older home's existing bath that did not have a light-heat-fan unit before, you may wind up figuring out your own mounting system rather than using the mounting arms included. Rather than use the mounting arms, I wound up mounting it with drywall screws through the housing to two boards that span the gap between ceiling joists in my old house. The mounting rails that are included attach to the sides and allow just 1/2" for drywall. They are designed for new work, and the instructions are all about new work. My ceiling was thicker than 1/2 inch. For old work, a unit suspended by the top or with mounting rails that are higher up on the sides may be desirable. (It would be very easy for Nutone to attach another pair of mounting slides near the top of the enclosure, above the existing ones to make the unit far more adaptable.) 3.) In old work, be aware that the unit requires a dedicated 20 amp circuit so be prepared to run one or have one installed. Make sure you have room to add a circuit breaker or have a spare fuse socket in your main box. Might as well plan it out and get your wire and materials while you are at the store if you plan to DIY it. 4.) It may be useful to run a good quality caulk around any gaps between the housing and the drywall after installation, especially if you have blown-in attic insulation (see photo). It helps with energy efficiency and keeps the insulation from migrating down into your cover.
