A difficult add on for me, I really struggled, but I did get it done. I had to cut in from an outside wall to get to the attic, A very awkward place to get in. I cut through a plywood floor and 6 in. stringers to get to the 1/2 in. sheet rock on the bathroom ceiling. The unit is so big it protruded 6 in. above the attic floor, it is 12 in. x 12 in. x12 in. A very large fan assembly for a bathroom exhaust fan. In my case I wanted as much as I could get, every time I showered the ceiling would be soaked and water would run down the side walls leaving streaks from the steam. I had to do something, and this worked perfect for me. The fan is very powerful and very, very quiet I could not be more pleased with the results.

This is a real exhaust fan,,,It moves a LOT of air.. rated for 210 CFM that would be a bathroom 10ft, x 21 ft. in length. This Fan measures approx 12 x 12 x 12 so make sure you have the room between the joists to hang it. It also uses an 8 inch exhaust hose to move that volume of air it moves 210 CFM (cubic feet minute) a minute and runs at 1.7 sones (level of quietness) Typical economy fans are rated at about 4.0 sones, if this is properly installed it will probably not even be heard, And it moves a lot of air, the one problem with bathroom fans is if you can get your kids/wife to turn them on, they usually leave them on. I've solved that problem by adding HD Model # A515MHW 15 minute timer switch. They can turn it on and it will go off by itself.. I already have one installed in my garage that I use when welding or running the table saw and spray painting, etc... it works great and its a reasonable price...the grill is easy to clean as well..

I had ordered this Broan bathroom exhaust fan assembly to replace the fan assembly in our master bathroom. After receiving it, I discovered that this unit is way to big for the area I wanted it for.
The grill looked the same as mine but is 14" square, mine is only 9". And the complete unit itself is made to fit between 16" centered rafters. If you are looking for a commercial sized unit that will cover up to 180 sq ft, this unit will work for you. This is not for your average home bathroom ! It looks very well made.

It is constructed of heavy-gauge galvanized steel housing resists corrosion and is UL listed and CUL listed for your safety and protection. It is AMCA licensed for air and sound performance. Installation is fairly easy and Includes 8-way adjustable mounting brackets for easy ceiling-mount installation.

I was not able to use it because the space...
I was not able to use it because the space in the ceiling between the rafters was small. So I didn’t even open the box. I bought another Broan vent 110 CMF I loved your brand, and I have high confidence.

Retrofit bathroom exhaust fan
This fan was straightforward to install. I have just quickly powered it up and it sounds quiet. The old fan was 10” x 14” and the new one is 12” x 12” so the new grille does not fully cover the opening. It would be nice if the fans were made in standard sizes and/or the grilles were trimmable to a variety of sizes.
