With a convertible design that offers both ducted and ductless installation, the Broan 46000 Series 42 in. Convertible Range Hood in makes it easy to tackle tough venting jobs in your kitchen. The range hood's adjustable dial controls make it easy to choose between variable fan motor speeds. The reusable aluminum mesh filter removes easily from the hood and supports dishwasher cleaning, making maintenance a snap. 2-level cooktop lighting offers convenient illumination. A 3-1/4 in. x 10 in. damper/adapter and a 7 in. round adapter are included for easy installation.

AnswersYes. It depends on how you install it. The 46000-Series is a convertible range hood. It can be ducted or non-ducted. You will have four ducting options: 3-14" x 10" vertical; 3-1/4" x 10" horizontal (through the back); 7" round vertical; or non-ducted. If you require a non-ducted installation, you must purchase the charcoal filters separately.

Answersalthough almost any device can be wired to a cord this hood is designed to be hard wired. any cord would have to be of proper wire size to carry the load and properly protected from abrasion

The only thing I don't like is that the range hood only has one light. My old one had two, one on each side. This one has one in the front and doesn't give off enough light, we had to remove the light cover to have enough light. Why did they change something that worked. Other than that it serves it's purpose.

Range hood has a nice sleek design and variable speed fan. High speed is LOUD but since we have it vented outside, it does a great job getting smoke/odors out of the kitchen quickly. I like the 2 setting light although I wish it had 2 instead of one. When it arrived, there were some dents in the back and the front was bent but my installer was able to shift and bend it to the right angle.

Nice looking range hood. Bought it for the 2-light settings, the fan with many dial adjustments, the sleek design and the good reviews. It delivered excellent marks on all, plus you can use a regular light bulb up to 60 watts. I highly recommend.
