The first thing you'll notice is that this fan is extremely quiet. The instructions are clear and the installation is easy. The fan components are modular, meaning that the electrical connections, fan motor and the exhaust port are separate components contained in the frame. Each module can be removed for service without disturbing the others. I installed this fan in the ceiling of my shed to exhaust the hot air and humidity that occurs in Florida weather. The installation was a bit different in a shed versus a bathroom, but it wasn't difficult (see photos). It is Energy Star rated. I have it connected to a thermostatically controlled 110 VAC outlet so it uses very little electricity.

Most builder-installed fans are cheap and often undersized. Retrofitting a bathroom fan on the first floor of a two-story home can be a challenge. The Invent fans solve the problems for the most part. Usually, the toughest part is getting the old fan out so check out how it is secured before a DIY undertaking. Also, since these fans tend to be bigger than the old fans, make sure you have adequate clearance to the wall from the ceiling/floor joist where the fan is mounted. Be sure to include the clearance for the overhang of the fan grill. I have installed five of these fans now on my way to replacing all of them in our home. The ability to pull the (flex) duct through the housing with the fan motor removed is a real plus. Having both a top and side location for inserting wiring is also a nice extra. These fans move a lot of air. One issue I have not figured out how to resolve is how to replace all the old 3 inch duct and replace it with 4 inch duct in a first-floor/two story application. While this fan will still move more air than the old builder grade fan it means that it will not make it to rated capacity and the noise level is a little higher than advertised because of the backpressure even with a smooth 3 in. to 4 in. transition piece.
Most homeowners and installers will notice a huge difference in quality between this fan and any "builder-grade" basic bathroom fan.

The dimensions of the fan listed online do not match the actual fan.
This was cross-referenced with an older Broan-Nutone fan but it’s incorrect.

The unit is well made, and as advertised. It is reasonably quiet given the CFM rating of 110. It is much quieter than the unit it replaced. If you are not handy you will need professional installation.
