Q:I just had this installed by an electrician a few days ago and a new duct was connected to a new roof vent by the roofing company today. When the fan is on, 3 sides draw air in while one side blows air out. Is this normal?

Bad and dangerous design - Do not buy
I bought 4 of these. They are VERY loud. Today I opened one of them and it turned out the fan has been hitting the wire coming out of the motor. now part of the wire insulation is gone.

Great Buy!
Serves its purpose in the laundry room. Much, much quieter than the previous builder grade 50-cfm 1000db fan (joke). Seriously tho, vacates the air from the laundry room better with great flow and reduced noise!

Extremely Disappointed.
I'm so upset. I spent time researching fans to upgrade in my bathrooms. Went back and forth between Panasonic and Broan. Decided on Broan for the sleek look + 0.7 sones for "ultra quiet performance". My electrician installed today and both are incredibly loud. Sounds like a car window is cracked open on the freeway. I believe this is the backdraft issue people have noted. I can actually feel air being blow OUT in certain areas. Paid my electrician to install this junk! Now I'm stuck. DO NOT BUY!

If you are feeling air blowing back into the room, we would want to discuss the duct size being used and the duct run. This model should be using 4" ducting. Anything smaller will affect the sound and performance. We do not recommend having an elbow directly off the housing. Extremely Disappointed
If "ultra quiet performance" is important to you DO NOT BUY. Super loud ratting air noise! Like a window is slightly cracked while driving. I went back and forth between Broan and Panasonic whisper, reading reviews for months. Went w/Broan for look and 0.7 sones of "ultra quiet performance". Not what I expected at all! I just had my electrician install two today. He did a great job, everything is connected. I'm quite upset cause I cant return. Would cost me even more to replace and reinstall.

Efficient Bathroom Fan
I am satisfied after 6 moths of being using this ventilator everyday. Is not too loud and it’s it’s job. I chose the 80 cfm because that was the recommended size for my bathroom. I love how it looks/blends with the ceiling. I painted my ceiling with pure white and blends great the the cover/grille of the fan. Dust hasn’t being sticking to the vents and is easy to clean. I recommend it.

Perfect for me.
Very easy install and extremely quiet. It's quieter than my coffee maker! I was able to complete the install from the bathroom without the need to go into the attic however my old bathroom exhaust pipe was undersized and not insulated so I chose to go in the attic to upgrade that also. I highly recommend this fan and would buy it again!

Easy to install.
This item was easy to install, it was my first time installing a fan box like this. Yeah, I had to make the opening bigger in the ceiling, and buy a reducer to go from 3” duct to the 4” damper flap that comes with this, after that, the wiring was pretty straight forward. 3 wires (black to black white to white and green to ground) fasten/screw the box to a roof truss with few drywall screws, mount the blower inside the housing (box) use crews (included) to secure blower and then put the cover… the metal hooks used to connect the white panel to the box on the ceiling are tricky to figure out at first but not the hardest thing to do. The blower itself is not too loud. I was happy with this item and the installation. Price its ok i guess.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Had to do some ceiling work due to a flood from upstairs neighbor. So I decided i may as well upgrade the bathroom exhaust fan from the original very loud fan. Very, very easy to install. Just had to make some minor adjustments to the ducting since newer fans use 4” ducts and the old duct is 3”. Would definitely buy again if needed in another bathroom.
