Does it connect only to cold water? If so, does the water coming from it is cold? Or, it warms it up somehow?
Asked by: Nick76
It connects to cold water only, however the Brondell Swash 1000 has a temperature feature with a built in heater system. You can adjust the temperature in three levels. Essentially cold supply which may be about 60-65 degrees here, luke warm perhaps about 75-80 degrees, and mildly warmer about 90-95 degrees or so. It is definitely not HOT water. We mainly use it on the cold or luke warm settings for energy reasons, but occasionally use the warmest setting. Whatever you have it set on, the system may purge the old water in the heater tank and then begin to heat the water to be ready for you.

Magnetic or otherwise wall-mountable remote?

Hi there, I recently used one of these automatic high tech bidet's at a local plumbing place. It was from a different manufacturer but in the same price range and had its remote mounted to the wall. When I read the specifications of it online, I saw that it actually comes with a magnetic board that the remote control is attached to on the wall. Do we have this option with this make and model? Thanks,
Asked by: Megan
Yes, this model has a remote control that can be held in you hand or held in a magnetic receiver mount. I usually mount the remote on the customer preference side on the wall. A good mounting heigh is 32 inches AFF above the finished floor. See attached photos the magnetic button is white and adheres to the remote on the square recessed section of the remote rear back. The remote control has a very sleek smooth cover for sanitary cleaning purposes and has illuminated functions showing what is being used or activated. The buttons are actually raised foe easy touch or use.

Swash 1000 Electric Bidet Seat for Elongated Toilet in Biscuit is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 321.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product, With Comments My first bidet toilet seat and I love it. I have the experience, so I installed the electric and the seat myself, and it was all VERY easy to install and set up (Don't do the electric if you do not have the experience or understand this type of circuit). The seat does everything it advertises and I am quite happy with my first experience. Adjustable spray, temperatures, spray angles, water pressure, are all easy to understand and it works well. It's exactly what I expected and wanted. Minor issues: The plug to the wall is not a flat plug and it sticks out about 2.5 inches. My toilet room is narrow, so this is an issue. Why does this not have a flat plug? Also, the toilet purges water from the nozzle EVERY time you sit down; you sit, and the toilet does this little sprinkle of water for about 3 seconds. Makes no sense to me since the nozzle purges when you activate cleaning for about 15 seconds anyway. Seems redundant and a waste.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but caution. The product is very good but I encountered a problem with the mounting plate. My older American Standard Champion 4 toilet has a lower bowl that curves up towards the tank, not leaving a large enough flat surface for mounting the new bidet. Rather than return it, I chose to buy a new Champion 4 Max which has a large flat area at the toilet seat bolt holes so that the mounting plate can sit flat. I still encountered a problem with the toilet bowl not being truly flat and I had to add some rubber double stick tape here and there to level out and secure the mounting plate. Once all this was done, the new bidet slid on to the mounting plate and hooked up quickly. It fees quite different and takes some getting used to having the back of the new seat pressed up against your back side. But, getting used to that and the unusual feel of a jet of water spraying up your butt, it does a great job of keeping my butt clean and free of irrigation. Now I am spoiled and I wouldn't want to loose it.

The leak comes from inside where the filter is located and not the water access joint so plumbers tape wont fix. The upside is it leaks only when the washlet is used and not a constant stream. Limited 3 year warranty. Other than that. It performs great, heats the water, easy access remote, comfortable. Will go with Toto washlet next time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Add-On Bidet on the market! This is Don's wife writing this review for obvious reasons lol... My husband got this for me for our anniversary. Best gift EVER!! It does everything you could possibly want in a bidet and with so many options for personalizing it to your exact specifications, how could you not love it?! It was incredibly easy to install and went in first try without a hitch in about 15 minutes and I did it by myself. I did also have to install an outlet behind the toilet but that was easy and only took about 30 minutes since there was an existing one on the other side of the wall (my dad was an electrician so I knew how to do that). I love how this bidet is mostly self cleaning and sanitizing!! If there is a need to ever manually clean it, well, that's easy as well! The surfaces are all smooth without any unnecessary crevasses to trap dirt or bacteria so you know it's clean and sanitary. One thing I need to mention is, to be patient after you choose a function, depending on what temperature you've chosen it can take up to 15 seconds to begin spraying. I thought it wasn't working at first but now I'm used to it. I could go on and on about how great this is!! If you're on the fence about whether to get it or not, stop hesitating and just buy it!!

I can honestly say that after nearly 4 years of owning this product this makes using a regular toilet downright uncivilized. We now have two of them and I'm seriously thinking about installing them on all our bathrooms. The 1000 sprung a leak a year ago after 2 years in service and had to be sent back for repairs. The company repaired it and gave us the reduced price for repairs per warranty. We missed our bidet while it was getting repaired. The cold toilet seat was not pleasant, and going back to toilet paper felt like going camping! Our 900 recently sprung a leak after 3 years in service (hint hint, plan on roughly 2-3 years before needing service) and had to be sent back for service. So we just upgraded to the 1200. I really like the improved design on the side so the hose doesn't stick out as much and the LED night light looks beautiful. I never thought I would like to have a light in the toilet, but I do. Installation was really easy, but be warned in advance that you'll need an electrician to install a GFC plug nearby!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish I had bought one years ago! I have used bidet seats like this one during my visits to Japan, and was quite impressed with the comfort, convenience and hygiene they provided. Although I wanted one for my home, I was hesitant to do so because I am not much of a handyman. As a teenager I accompanied my grandfather during the summer on his general contracting jobs and I developed a strong distaste for the plumbing installations. But after looking at the PDF installation guide linked to from the Home Depot page for this item, I became convinced that even I could do it. Installation was quick and straight-forward, but I would recommend two things. First, make sure you have a set of open-end wrenches to tighten the connections. They should be fairly short in length since, like my situation, you probably won't have a lot of room to work and a crescent wrench is just going to be too much aggravation. I was fortunate that the toilet already had a flexible supply hose installed, but that would have only added a few minutes to the process. Second, have someone there to provide another pair of hands when connecting the t-valve to the bottom of the tank. I noted some water leaking at this junction when I was complete, and it was because the fill-float mechanism in the toilet tank has rotated as I tightened the t-valve. This was easily fixed, but having someone hold the mechanism steady while connecting the t-valve would have avoided the problem. Also, get a pair of knee-pads because that tile is hard and unless you're a pro then you're going to be kneeling down there for at least 15 minutes. The unit has been installed for three weeks now and it has been working great. My only regret is not doing it sooner! Every feature is easily managed from the remote and offers a range of control to meet your individual preference. The water wash can be unheated or warmed to three temperatures. The two spray arms can oscillate, move to three positions forward and back, and deliver the water in a stream, a narrow fan or a wide fan. You can even set the water pressure to three levels. All these functions can be changed while you use it. And let's not forget the drying function with unheated or heated air (at three settings) to finish the job. I haven't had to use the heated seat yet, but let me tell you that in the winter this will be your favorite feature! To sum it all up, the Swash 1000 is pure bathroom decadence! Don't go cheap - get the model with all the options. You won't regret it.
