Hi Lynn, Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The Bruce - Ash - Gunstock - AHS1130 is the product that meets the same specifications as your original flooring product of CB2611. Both products were/are made by using the Ash wood species and they both have the Gunstock color applied. We highly recommend that you have a sales associate at your local The Home Depot, order you a sample of the current product from their Contemporary Marketing Group. With a sample, you will be able to compare to your flooring and determine if it's a good match. We hope that this information is helpful. Have a great day.

What length of nails and how close # of nails does it take to lay 550 sq ft

Asked by Charley February 10, 2020

Answer

Hello, Charley! Thanks for contacting AHF Products. You would need to use 1 1/2" - 2" nails with a blind fastening machine specifically configured for 3/4" hardwood. As for spacing, the nails should be spaced 8"-10" apart and 1"-3" from the ends of the boards. You can find more information here: https://hardwoodexpert.ahfproducts.com/knowledge-base/installation-instructions-3-4-solid-hardwood-plank-strip-products-for-mechanically-fastened-staple-nail-or-cleat-applications/

Answer

We do not estimate material. If you do not understand how to estimate, a store associate would be able to assist you with this information Click on the link below to view the product information. There is 22 square feet per carton. You would multiply the length x's the width and you would be the total square feet for the room. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Bruce-Ash-Gunstock-3-4-in-Thick-x-3-1-4-in-Wide-x-Random-Length-Solid-Hardwood-Flooring-22-sq-ft-case-AHS1130/202690679 I hope this information is helpful.

I must strongly recommend against this product. When I purchased it, I understood the product to be random lengths, but there are far too many short pieces. Specifically, I purchased five boxes of this product. The first two were not great in terms of length, but were usable. The third had over thirty pieces less than two feet long and a few longer pieces, with the shortest piece measuring just 9.5" long. Needless to say, it's pretty hard to lay those in a way that doesn't look awful. I contacted the company, concerned that maybe this was just something that had slipped through, but they saw no problem when I described what I had received. I'll be boxing up and returning what I have, and tearing up and discarding what I can't return.

The wood is very beautiful and the finish is acceptable. What was troubling was the number of lengthwise cracks in the bottom groove, meaning there is nothing to hold the board in place. It essentially renders the board unusable except as edge pieces or smaller end pieces. Decided to use a different brand.

Out of 11 boxes of flooring (242 square feet) there were only a few pieces that had factory defects. Most of those were usable by cutting out the defects so not a big problem. The flooring has some knots and what might be pitch pockets that give it a somewhat more rustic look than the photographs I viewed. Again, not a problem as I like the look of it. There was a good mix of short and long pieces. I'm not a flooring professional, but I have worked as a carpenter most of my life. I encountered no problems installing this flooring.
