Cheap product
Unfortunatly i did not listen to my installer and got this wood from honedepot. It was cheaper than other options but you get what you pay for. Wood had a lot of waste but that is not the main problem. Main issue is those unsightly gabs between the boards. My installers did their best to avoid those hence the hugs amount of waste, but still you can see those ugly gabs everywhere you look....

Excellent product and looks even better. Ordered 7 case for a small bedroom and had very little to no waste. Good mix of long and short pieces. I am a diy'er and was very easy to install with the right tools. Have a friend who's a contractor and borrowed his flooring nailer for the job. This was the first time installing hardwood flooring and is very easy to do but is time consuming. My wife is very happy with the look and now wants to do the rest of the bedrooms in the same flooring.

This has to be the best hardwood that I found. My installer was very impressed with the product and stated this is real hardwood, meaning hard to get a nail through. Being a professional installer he kept saying how nice the grain is and the finish. When he trying to nail the last piece at the wall, he needed to drill the hole first then use his nail gun. Highly recommend this for your house. Looks great!

I ordered the Hickory Autumn Wheat flooring for my home office about 6 months ago. I read a few complaints about there being large numbers of defects in previous orders. I let the flooring sit in the room for a few weeks and then started installation. When installing, we opened all of the boxes and found any pieces with defects (warping, scratches, etc) and placed them aside. Overall there weren't too many pieces that were defective and we were able use those pieces on ends where we could cut out the defective portion, resulting in very little waste. 6 months later with a large (80 lbs) dog and these floors still look like new. I haven't noticed any scratches and the color still looks great. I ended up buying more to finish out the main level of my house.

I must strongly recommend against this product. When I purchased it, I understood the product to be random lengths, but there are far too many short pieces. Specifically, I purchased five boxes of this product. The first two were not great in terms of length, but were usable. The third had over thirty pieces less than two feet long and a few longer pieces, with the shortest piece measuring just 9.5" long. Needless to say, it's pretty hard to lay those in a way that doesn't look awful. I contacted the company, concerned that maybe this was just something that had slipped through, but they saw no problem when I described what I had received. I'll be boxing up and returning what I have, and tearing up and discarding what I can't return.

autumn wheat
we put this in master bdrm and hall. used the 10% waste rule and came out prrfect. 1 box of damaged product mostly due to forklift accident. longer boards had some warping but we're usable. overall we are happy with results. price was very good. pic loads upside down.

Decent overall...
My wife and I decided to remodel our house and part of it was installing hardwood flooring. We decided on hickory based on the durability and multi-tonal appearance. We put the flooring in our family/dining room as well as our living room. Installation was fairly easy with the right tools and some YouTube videos. We purchased 10% extra for waste based on the recommendations on the Bruce website, however I would recommend more like 20% with this particular flooring. Many of the boards were fairly short, some also had machining damage, and also quite a few had heavy and deep pitting. Overall the quality is pretty good even considering these aspects. When planned properly and installed correctly, the appearance is very rustic and appealing. The feel under foot is very pleasant and it's resistance to damage is fairly high.
