Hey there Angie! Thank you for your interest in AHF Products. While these products appear similar, they will offer a slightly different appearance. However, we are still producing our Waltham in Country Natural, please follow this link (https://bit.ly/2GfL2oL) to view the collection on our web site. Samples may be obtained from a local flooring store. To find some retailers near you, please click the Find a Store button at the top of the www.bruce.com web page, plug in your zip or postal code, and our website will find stores near you. If the stores in your area do not have the sample already in-stock, they will be able to order it from their local distributor. I hope this information was helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again by e-mail at productsupport@ahfproducts.com or by phone at 1-866-243-2726 Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 4:30 PM EST. Answer

Hi Lydia, We appreciate you reaching out to us with your question. Nothing is as striking and inviting as a home with true hardwood. Wood is a natural material containing distinctive differences in color and grain configurations. It is these differences, caused by nature, that create the warmth, beauty and originality of each hardwood floor. We do not use a traditional grading system, but classify our products by Good, Better, and Best performance classes. These classes are determined based on Janka ratings, finish type, and other factors. For example, a product with a 50-Year Warranty will be categorized as in the Best Performance class. These products will have less natural characteristics, such a mineral streaks, it would have a much cleaner face. The more imperfections in the face, the lower the warranty year. The Plano flooring collection is part of Bruce’s Natural Grade category which features a greater amount of visual character, such as wider color and grain variation, mineral streaks, knots and small holes as well as minor milling imperfections. We are proud to say that ALL of our solid hardwood products are manufactured in the US. We hope that this information is helpful. Have a great day.

Hi Ericka, Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. Nothing is as striking and inviting as a home with true hardwood. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the product you're inquiring about has been discontinued. Your original AHS2231 was an engineered 3/8" x 3", so the best suggested replacement would be model number EPL3111EE. Can you get this flooring in low gloss rather than high gloss?

Dear Marissa, Thank you for contacting us with your question. I apologize for the inconvenience, however this product is only available in a high gloss. For your convenience I have attached two links below where you can view two of our natural products in a low gloss. Your local Home Depot would have access to these products as well. I hope you find this helpful. Please click here to view one low gloss option: https://www.bruce.com/en-us/products/hardwood/manchester-strip-plank/solid-hardwood/c1220lg.html Please click here to view the second low gloss option: https://www.armstrongflooringhardwood.com/en-us/products/hardwood/prime-harvest/solid-hardwood/apk3410lg.html

Looks great overall! The installer said it was easy to work with. Some of the wood has holes in it which I’m sure is natural but I don’t love the look of it. Luckily it was only a few pieces. The floors are a beautiful color but do show dirt!! I am very happy with the result!

If you want to install this, or any other hardwood flooring, the key is preparation. Have the right tools, follow the directions, and don't try to "wing it" If a board is slightly warped, cut it and use it at the ends. The flooring nailer and staples will pull it back into place. With a little planing you can end up with a beautiful floor.

Good afternoon. Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our product. I am sorry that this flooring was not up to expectations. This floor is part of the Plano collection. The Plano Collection is part of Bruce’s Natural Grade category which features a greater amount of visual character such as wider color and grain variation, mineral streaks, knots and small holes as well as minor milling imperfections. The milling issues, color variation, and other things that appear to be damaged are an acceptable part of this product line, as it is designed to give a rustic natural look. We recommend an overage amount of 10-15% with this flooring so you can cull out boards that don't look good and end up with a beautiful floor. I do apologize for any inconvenience. Have a great day. Save your time and money. This floor colour is beautiful however the quality is garbage. Out of 35 boxes of flooring I had to sort through each piece and ended up having to return 16 to get replacements as there were bug holes through alot of boards, cracks, dry rot, rough surface finish, completely missing tongues or broken grooves, excess wood filler on the tongue or groove side that won't let the boards fit tight unless you file/sand it off, water damaged (black staining on oak) or just general damage to the top surface (dents and dings). Returned the 16 to the store and no problems returning however once I brought the replacements home and sorted through them only ended up being able to keep 4 boxes so back to the store the remaining 12 boxes go to get replacements again. Complete waste of time. If we didn't like the look of the floor so much I'd rip it all up and return it all and go with a better product. If there was any degree of quality control at the manufacturing plant a majority of these imperfections would have been caught especially since the second you open the box you can see it in the top row. They could have cut the damaged parts out and machined the ends and sure you would have had 2 smaller boards out of a big one but at least they would have been usable instead of trash getting sent back to the manufacturer. On the positive side there are a lot of long boards and 99% of them are nice and straight, and great variation in colour so the floor will be easy to touchup scratches with stain markers because there are so many shades in colour. Below is a small subset of the garbage that they put in the boxes.

Good Morning,
It is important for us to hear feedback from our customers and thank you for taking the time to enter your comments. Your input is very important and we always want expectations to be met. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. Our company does pride itself in quality flooring and it was never our intention for you to have this experience. Wood is a natural species that can feature imperfections such as knots and discolorations. Please know that the Plano collection features a greater amount of visual character such as wider color and grain variation, mineral streaks, knots and small holes as well as minor milling imperfections. We are happy to know that The Home Depot was able to help with the returns and again, apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Have a great day. Armstrong

Yes, but many boards were not usable in the lengths they arrived. Many bowed, warped, crowned, twisted, whatever term one would chose to use. Saved them thinking we could cut them to reduce the abnormality but even in a closet they created an issue when it came to installing them. My partner and I decided that possibly H/D had ordered lumber that was not graded as #1 but possibly sold what might be classified as seconds or #2 quality in order to offer them at a reduced price. ??? Many boards came with missing portions of tongues, imperfections on the face, or machine handling impressions on the face. Glad we ordered 10-15% excess to allow for "scrap" which I paid full price for. Boxing was also an issue. Some boxes would contain 70-80% 'long boards' then the next box would be 80% shorts (8" to 30"). Solution was to open 3-4 boxes at a time to get the variety needed to install. Took up a lot of space.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to enter your comments, you input is a valuable part in helping us to provide better products. The Plano Collection is part of Bruce’s Natural Grade category which features a greater amount of visual character such as wider color and grain variation, mineral streaks, knots and small holes as well as minor milling imperfections. Wood is a natural material containing distinctive differences in color and grain configurations. It is these differences, caused by nature, that create the warmth, beauty and originality of each hardwood floor. Our floors are packaged in varying lengths, and the packaging is completely random. Because of the random lengths and color variation of hardwood floors we always recommend installing form at least 3-4 cartons of flooring at a time. I do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Have a great day. Armstrong

Overall this product met expectations. I followed the advice of other reviewers and ordered 20% overage for waste and poorly milled product and it worked out just fine (180ft2 space and ordered 10 boxes). As noted by others, the finished side is very slightly beveled leaving some gaps. It is unlikely to ever be an issue since I doubt we'll ever attempt to change the color. The finish on this flooring does appear very durable. All things considered, ordering the overage, getting this product as a special buy of the day, and home depot credit promotions, the value was very high. Including labor, I got this done at about 40% of what was quoted to me by a local flooring store.

I have laid plenty of laminate floors, but had never tried laying a hardwood floor. I selected this product due to the quality of the samples and other reviews. I found the product better than most reviews. I did find some “bad” boards, but not nearly as many as I expected given many reviews. The color uniformity was good across many boxes (I purchased 34 boxes for about 650 sqft of floor). I do recommend, as is suggested by nearly everyone, that you work from 4 or 5 boxes at at time, thought. Not so much for color uniformity but for length variety. Some boxes were nearly all long boards and some were nearly all short boards. And where I wanted a randomness to the flooring, that sometimes created difficultly. Home Depot’s service was horrible. I ordered the product shipped to store for pickup, and they left it outside in the rain. Fortunately, I had no obvious damage despite the foolish care by Home Depot. And the customer service desk was nearly useless. After the experience I have had with my last several orders at Home Depot, I have changed primarily to buying elsewhere. It is sad, as I have been a nearly exclusive buyer from Home Depot for the last 15 years.
