Q:Why is there a prob 65 warning? Is it the wood finish?
by|Nov 25, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  Hello Nadi! Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your question. The California Prop 65 warning is attached to hardwood floors because they produce sawdust when cut. Sawdust is listed on the list for the Prop 65 warning. Armstrong and Bruce solid wood products contain no adhesives or urea formaldehyde. They are a solid wood construction. Regarding the finish applied to our solid wood flooring products: These products go through a finishing process at the factory that uses several coats of a 99.9% solid urethane coating. The coating is cured via ultraviolet light at the factory site. This process essentially eliminates the VOC off-gassing from the finished product.  Once again, thank you for contacting AHF Products. I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm EST by e-mail at productsupport@ahfproducts.com or by phone at 1-866-243-2726.

Q:What t molding do I purchase to match Bruno Plano Oak Country Natural?
      by|Nov 14, 2023

      Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Thank you for contacting AHF Products. I’m sorry, but there is not a coordinating t-mold for the Bruce floor model SKPL39L10.  If you decide to purchase unfinished, 3/4” thick t-mold trim and custom color match the stain color of the floor, we recommend taking a couple of uninstalled planks to a paint/stain professional. I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again by e-mail at productsupport@ahfproducts.com or by phone at 1-866-243-2726, Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:30pm, EST.  Additional information may also be found at our technical website FloorExpert.com.

        Great flooring choice
Great flooring and nice color variations in wood grain. Excellent value compared to other options out there, Only thing I'd point out is there were a fair amount of manufacturer imperfections from case to case. If you want a very uniform looking floor this probably isn't for you. Overall, I am very satisfied and will likely buy more to finish upstairs now. Installed with 2 inch flooring cleats. Chose the 2.25 inch width for a more traditional look.

Looks great..Best decision I made, I was thinking about getting the unfinished and stain after installation. This product saved time and dust from accumulating in the home.

              Not worth your time
This product is really sub par. You get way too many imperfections, and way too many different color shades in a box to make a decent looking floor. I bought a box and found everything from a dark caramel color to a light beige sand color. If I was starting over, I would find a much higher quality product with more uniform quality looking boards.

              Hi Bob,

Thanks for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.

We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced.  It is our aim to provide quality products and services to our customers and to meet your expectations.

Wood is a natural material containing distinctive differences in color and grain configurations. It is these differences, caused by nature, that create the warmth, beauty and originality of each hardwood floor.

The Plano collection is part of Bruce’s Natural Grade category which features a greater amount of visual character, such as wider color and grain variation, mineral streaks, knots and small holes as well as minor milling imperfections.

                    Zero Quality Control at Bruce
Bought one box of March Oak and found that about half the boards have worm holes through them. These boards should have never been processed, let alone filled with wood filler and sold to consumers. Pretty unacceptable. Half of this box is unusable wood which means $50 of mine get washed down the drain.

Hi Austin, Thank you for taking the time to review our product.  We are very sorry to hear about the experience you have had with our flooring product. It is our goal to provide you with the best possible product and service and we feel that it’s important for us to know if our products fail to meet your expectations. Our Plano collection features a greater amount of visual character, such as wider color and grain variation, mineral streaks, knots and small holes as well as minor milling imperfections as this is part of Bruce’s Natural Grade category. However, if you feel the issues are beyond the expectations of the flooring product, you can have a claim filed with Home Depot. Your proof of purchase would be necessary to file the claim.. Again, I apologize for the experience you had with our flooring.  If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact our Customer Services at 1-866-243-2726, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST. Disappointing product due to poor manufacturing
This was our first time to use pre-finished hardwood flooring. We have always used unfinished flooring in the past. Numerous milling problems. Burn marks, waves in boards due to skips in planing process, missing tongues, cupped boards, end cuts not square, widths varying from 4 13/16”-5 1/16”, large majority of boards under 12”. We had to measure the widths and make piles of each width. It took us three three day weekends to install 560 sq ft and we are experienced!

If you feel this is a manufacturing issue, you may go back to the flooring retailer where the material was purchased.  You would need your sales receipt, as it serves as your proof of purchase. The sales receipt is required by both the retailer and AHF Products.  If this is a warranted issue, the retailer will then be able to file a claim with AHF Products.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced.

The wood was absolutely beautiful and very well machined. Easy to cut with good carbide blades. Pre drilling for start and finish rows is a must.
