How much moisture does this product handle without staining or buckling?

Asked by PJ April 17, 2016

Answer

The key to preventing this laminate product from suffering moisture issues later on is to take every possible precaution prior to installation. Moisture of the subfloor, whether its concrete or hardwood, should be at a reasonable level before installing the laminate. Also, extra precaution can be taken in areas that may be exposed to high moisture by gluing the tongue and groove using our Armstrong Everseal joint glue. This will better protect the flooring from both subfloor moisture as well as topical moisture. Although there is not an exact amount of moisture that we can measure that the laminate can tolerate, it is warranted to stand up to topical moisture spills provided they are cleaned up in a timely manner. If standing water is left on the floor, the water can seep through to the High Density Fiberboard, cause it to swell, which will then cause buckling. The joint glue I mentioned will help to protect this issue from occurring if properly applied. How well will this product hold up in a bathroom?

Asked by Shakra September 12, 2015

Answer

Laminate can be installed in a bathroom, however there are some additional steps that should be taken during installation. Seams: Armstrong EverSeal Adhesive to be used in: Full Bathroom Installations—100% silicone caulk must be used around the entire perimeter and a 3/32" bead of glue on the top of the tongue ONLY. Bathroom installation is for residential use only. Please view the following link for installation information http://www.floorexpert.com/articles/Installation/Complete-Laminate-Installation-System?KBArticleName=Armstrong-Laminate-Premier-Classics-Product-Information&KBArticleID=kA730000000Gouz&popup=false&retURL=%2Fapex%2FknowledgeSearch%3Fk%3Dl3076&KBArticleTitle=Premier+Classics+Laminate+%22Product+Information%22&KBArticleTypeLabel=Product+Spec+%2F+Data+Sheet&KBArticleType=Product_Spec__kav Also, laminate is highly sensitive to moisture, so any spills or water on the floor needs to be cleaned immediately to avoid damage to the floor. I hope this information is helpful.

Trim for wall installation?

Asked by smuffy May 26, 2015

Answer

We cannot recommend this product to be installed on a wall. You can certainly do as you wish but this product would not be warranted - the warranty would be void. The product number below is for the quarter round trim piece. The Home Depot will have to special order this trim piece for you. M51E3 I hope this is helpful.

Beautiful Floor
The floor fits together nicely. My (first) sub messed it up by not staggering the boards and walked off the job. Enter second contractor, we took the floor apart which was relatively easy then fitted the floor staggering the panels and wahla, they came back together beautifully. I had a lot left over make sure and measure. The floor goes really beautifully with cream colored cabinets and granite counter top the same colors .

Seacoast Walnut
This is the only laminate floor I have installed so don't have much to compare it to. I found the installation a breeze. We really like the appearance. The face of each board has slight waves to give it a natural hand scraped look. The edges are also beveled. We like both these features. In fact we just bought more for the other bedroom in the house. Floor has been in for 8 months now and no issues. Wish it was more economical as we would install this in our entire main living area.

Nice flooring at a moderate price
This imitation driftwood plank flooring was easy to cut, fit and lay. The pieces as they came out of the box weren't impressive looking, but when installed they look terrific as a whole. I was a bit disappointed in the backing material for the planks, basically a sawdust particle board. Corners broke off easily and occasionally bits would get caught in a groove and inhibit interlocking of the planks. Once I realized that was what occasionally prevented a plank from easily slipping into alignment with its neighbor, I just made a quick check before snapping in each one. Only time will tell how well it holds up, so can't really comment on that.
