5 in. x 3.5 in. 15 HP 420cc Self Feed Gas Chipper Shredder with 120-Volt Electric Start, Trailer Hitch, Gloves, Goggles

I bought this to help with clean up of an overgrown area at my new home. I've feed it everything from small twigs to 3.5” diameter trees and it handled them without hesitation. Starts on the first pull. I havent even tried the electric start yet. My only suggestion would be to make the discharge chute less prone to clogging. You'll need to clear the chips regularly to prevent clogging.

Runs well, starts easily and assembly was quick and comes with tools. Very small opening for branches so you have to trim everything well before you shred - really well. I was surprised how small the branches had to be I could get in to the slot. Top chute is marked for leaves only and they mean it. Nothing including small brush will not work it is a leaf only drop. I even tried to use it with Iris leaves that we had trimmed - nope would not drop down the chute and when they did almost stalled the engine. PRO Engine easy to start, have not tried the electric start yet since it is easy to pull Seems well made and assembled Chips fine Gravity feed works ok but jerks the branches around as you are pushing them in CON Cutting blade wears very very fast the original set lasted less than 2 hours with only small soft wood - small aspen and pine branches only, very disappointed - order extra blades up front. Need harder steel and should put two cutting edges on each blade so you could flip and get 2 uses per blade. Top heavy with a narrow axel so very tippy and hard to move around even on flat ground for one person. Needs a wider axel to increase stability. Top Chute does not work really for even light brush or weeds, I only got it to work with small leaves and even that was not great. Not very useful part of the chipper. Chips exit low to ground so not reasonable to drop into a wheel barrow to move the chips around, would be nice if discharge chute was higher.

Purchased this after doing allot of research. I didn't want to have to pull-start a 15HP motor, so the electric start feature was the first selling feature. The unit came pre-assembled. All you had to do was bolt on the two chutes and two handles. We had allot of spring clean-up and pruning to grind up. It did these tasks with ease! But the real test came after a wind storm and two flowering pear trees each lost a major limb. The Brush Master just ate it! We ran the machine for 2 solid hours and just kept feeding it. If you can put it in the chute, it will eat it! The size of the chips are outstanding for mulch. If anyone is interested in purchasing a top of the line chipper/shredder for the home, this is it! One item to watch, keep the exit area clear to prevent the machine from backing up. We had to do this because of the huge amount of material we produced. We are very happy we made this purchase. Home Depot had the best price on-line!

Unit keeps stopping let it set for a few minutes then it will start back up.

We have been trying to get help from the manufaturer and nothing. They wont talk to you you have to fill out a form and wait still no reply and it has been over a week.

powerful enough for my job. The catch bag is inferior. the eyelets that retain it on the chipper failed after 4 bags.

Works well for small straight branches but small ones just get stuck. Top hoper is for leaves only. And can only handle a handful or so before it gets jammed up in the hoper

The chipper/shredder doe what I wanted it do. Powerful machine & feeds easy. I don't like where the chips discharge, too low. The hitch is set where if i pull the machine with my zero turn mower, the rear stand drags on the ground. The rear end tears up my grass while toeing. Hitch needs to raise up, back end 3" to 4".
