Product Overview

  • Compatible with both wet and gel cell batteries
  • Maintains and extends the life of rechargeable 120-Volt batteries
  • Keeps a full battery from losing its charge
Is there anything worse than finding that your motorcycle has a dead battery on the first warm day of spring. Keep the batteries on your recreational vehicles powered up and ready to go while in storage, or over the winter, so they are ready to roll when you are. Use the Battery Float Charger for the maintenance of wet or gel cell batteries that are stored or used periodically in boats, cars, snowmobiles, ATV’s and tractors. The Battery Float Charger prevents self-discharge of the battery, while maintaining and extending the life of rechargeable 120-volt batteries. The Battery Float Charger maintains a battery charge for batteries rated from 5 to 125 amp-hours, by providing a 13.2 VDC max output. Other types of chargers provide a strong, rapid charge but tend to boil out liquids and decay electrodes. The Battery Float Charger is intended only to keep a fully charged battery from losing its charge. It will not work to charge a battery that is discharged or damaged. Check the voltage of the battery to be charged. Do not use charger if the battery voltage is less than 9.6-volts.
  • Keep your battery fully charged in storage or during cold weather
  • Use on 12-Volt DC batteries
  • Output: 12-Volt DC, 500 mA, maximum output: 13.2-Volt DC
  • Capacity: 5 to 125Ah batteries
  • Input: 120-Volts AC
  • 60 Hz, 14 Watts
  • 53 in. battery lead cables

Questions & Answers

Can this charge a new atv battery

Asked by: Fatboyfly
Yes I charge a motorcycle battery with this charger. It is a trickle charger so it’s a slow charge. It’s meant to keep a battery charged over a longer period of time.

I HAVE ONE OF THESE, DOES THE RED CONNECTOR HOOK UP TO THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL?
Asked by: SOSNOW
You can hook it up to either terminal, but if you connect any red lead to a black lead you will almost always likely have a fire or explosion or something will melt. You choose.

How long does it take to charge a dead battery?

Asked by: Zman
As stated in the specifications, it will not charge a "dead" battery (that measures below 9.6 Volts). I can vouch for that, as I tried it on a dead battery (from accidentally leaving my trunk door open for a few days. It has a protection circuit that reduces the current down to .005A (5 mA). Even overnight, no luck. By the way, it is not a 2A charger. It is only a 0.5 A (500 mA) low current "trickle" charger, again, stated in the specifications section, which you have to scroll down to see.

I could not find that brand again. So, bought this ... It works, but a few things I do not like. First, it has red indicator like that is always On. Only goes Off, if you reverse the polarity. You would intuitively think, red is stop, green is go. Why is it red and not green, and why it is always On? Second, the clip is curved (see pic). That is good for a round post, but my connections are flat, and these clips are very hard to stay connected. The blade should be toothed or flat. You can always turn clips sideways for round posts. Third, and most important, the description says this provides 13.2V, but mine only does 12.55V (see pic; maybe mine is defective?). My 12V batteries Stand by Use is 13.6V. So, this is keeping a charge, but not fully charging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect For My Motorcycle Battery I bought this for my motorcycle battery cause it died when i was trying to start it and a friend told me to take it out in the winter time or the battery could crack from freezing of the electrolyte if it not charged, so i took it out and put it in my basement with this trickle charger on it and it has kept it charged since i got it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Trickle Charger works I purchased the charger to keep a small 12 v battery charged at all times. It does the job well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding product I have the BFC12 maintainer that i purchased in March 2014. It only has the red indicator light, not the green light also. I have it connected to my Kia Sedona and it works super. I swear by it. The car sits for months on end and when I hit the start it never fails, the battery stays fully charged and ready to go. One observation, READ the instructions. It states that the battery initially MUST be fully charged when you hook up the unit to it. I am buying two more for my lawnmower and second car. Of course I will make sure that the batteries are FULLY CHARGED when I hook it up. Outstanding Product, you cannot go wrong for the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Product Item works great, no more recharging my batteries as it keeps them maintained.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well...for now. GREAT bargain-- especially w/ FREE SHIPPING!! Just one prob: unit DOES NOT shut off when battery is completely charged, as advertised... no matter how long I leave it on either my scooter or car, BOTH LIGHTS STAY ON. Also, it stays VERY warm-- which at best means it is drawing power needlessly, and at worst will soon burn itself out... so we'll see.
