Q:Two months ago I ordered 3 sets of Builders Edge 14 1/2 by 52 Louvered Vinyl Exterior Shutters, paintable. I want 2 more sets, 14 1/2 by 60 and 14 1/2 by 48 . Do they still come in paintable? Can't seem to find them on line.

Looks great! Incredible esthetic appeal to all my windowns, snd i own ateo story home. My only dissapointment is they come with plastic screws which i dont recommend , especailly if you live in areas that have weather severity. I had to buy metals screws to ensure maximum secure mounting.

NOT WHITE
Overall the quality and value is great but…..
The color is not white. I ordered 6 sets of shutters waited a few weeks for them to come in just to see that they are ivory in color. If you are looking for a pure white shutter this is not it. The screw caps are white the shutter is not.

Perfect Match for 20+ Year Old Shutters - Painted To Match **
I bought two sets this size and one set that was shorter to allow putting shutters on the rear of our manufactured home that match the front. The ones on the front are over 20 years old, and we just finished repainting the home and the shutters.
** These shutters state that they are NOT PAINTABLE, which for practical purposes is true, but never having been one to follow instructions I wiped them down with acetone on a paintbrush, and used my airless sprayer to paint them the same as I've done to the front ones twice now. Be advised the paint doesn't just peel off, in fact I've pressure washed the old ones without any problems. BUT they do scratch easy. When you slip off the screw with the impact driver you're going to scratch paint, but it's easily touched up.

They fade badly and fasteners break and fail
I bought several sets of these Wineberry colored shutters approximately 10 years ago and put them on my house and 2 sets on my shed. All the ones that are exposed to the sun have faded. Both sets on my shed are now a light whitish pink color because they've faded so bad. 3 of the shutters have come loose from the brick because the heads have popped off the fasteners which left them flapping in the wind. DO NOT believe their claim that they do not fade because they absolutely do over time.

Our shutters are backed by a limited life time warranty, which includes fading. Although we can not control what happens to the shutters in the environment, all colorant does contain a UV stabilizer to prevent fading. Our shutter fasteners have been the number one recommended choice for installation for many years. We recommend a snug fit, however not to tight as to cause dimpling on the shutter face, and to allow for contraction and expansion of the shutter, as being exposed to the environment does cause the material to contract or expand. Happy with these shutters!
Beautiful shutters! They are not super heavy, but look study and beautiful against our newly painted house. Easy to drill on. Once we got one done, the rest were easy. We put black shutters on our pale yellow house with white trim. It's gorgeous.

Screws are not included
Home Depot declares in their product offering that the screws and plastic lock spikes are both included. The screws are no where to be found.
