I’m not an expert in the matter but to me...
I’m not an expert in the matter but to me it would be better to have the outter ring larger than the flange for retrofit. I didn’t see anywhere in the listing it’s only for new construction. Also the directions call for a ridiculously small hole so I didn’t trust them nor could I tell if the ring would cover my cuts. Cuts are a little exposed unless you can cut to NASA specs on top of a 30’ ladder.. The outter ring didn’t fit flush with the wall, I filled in stucco flush with the vent and the ring wouldn’t go all the way down. In all it’s nice looking but I did have to patch stucco and get color matched paint.

Great materials and held paint well.
My home is 100 years old and it was time to update from the dreary colors of the day and step up to a more exciting color and in the process discovered that our vent was damaged beyond repair. I started my search for a replacement online and found the perfect product here. It's made of long lasting materials, was easy to install, easy to paint, and the screening is very sturdy.

I was looking for a gable vent that i could install on a frame and large enough to utilize hinges for an attic access. This was perfect for the project. It looks fabulous on both gable ends of my garage and will provide adequate ventilation.
