Q:Is it easy to replace our existing flap vent with one of these hooded vents - just the cover needs to be replaced.

A:  Thank you for your interest in Builders Edge. Our hooded vents are a one piece mold, so unfortunately you cannot just remove the face of the vent. Also, all of our vents come on a nailing flange that should be installed under the siding. If you need new flaps please call customer service at 1-800-969-7245 and we can order replacement flaps.

    Q:Does this vent have a screen inserted inside to prevent birds, rodents from entering? Flap may open when windy.

    A:  Thank you for your interest in Builders Edge. The vent does not include a screen or animal guard. We do offer both the animal guard and screen for the 4" hooded vent, those can be purchased thru home depot as well.
