Just what I needed, very sturdy material.
My first time installing a light with one of these blocks and the instructions were not very helpful. I know the wires have to remain inside the wall so I did my own thing and it worked out great. I used my Dremel tool to cut off a hole. This material is so strong and sturdy that I was able to affix the light directly on this block. Then I tucked the wires inside the wall and screwed the block directly into the siding. Two 2-1/2 in screws were enough to hold this in place. I then used exterior caulk to seal the edges, with the exception of the bottom "weep hole" since it allows for water to drain off if it gets inside. I'm very happy with the results.
