Can I use this to scrape buildup inside an outside wood boiler?

Asked by kelly November 6, 2019

Answer

I would think you can as long as it won’t damage your boiler ... the chopper is heavy

How often does it need to be sharpened

Asked by a3 November 9, 2018

Answer

It is made of very hard steel, but if the edge is dulled by hitting rocks, concrete, etc., It is easily sharpened with a file, or grinder. If sharpening with a grinder, be sure to quench the hot edge in water to maintain it's temper strength.

Well built chopper
Need a tool to break up the stubborn ice, then this is your tool. It is very sturdy and well built. It is all steel, from the handle straight through to the tool itself. The handle is steel with a comfortable foam grip. It is solid with good weight distribution. I now feel that I am prepared for another snow and ice covered winter with a solid tool like this to scrape and break up the ice.

Quality Ice Chopper and MADE IN USA!
I am always happy to see a quality item that is 100% American Made, and this wholesome ice scraper by Bully Tools is made well. It has a good weight for chopping ice and a comfortable cushioned grip on the handle. The 6 inch wide carbon steel blade can easily be sharpened when needed. The blade is about 7 inches tall and about 1/8 inch thick. After breaking my wimpy ice chopper last winter, I look forward to using this one and I am sure it will perform perfectly.

Sturdy and strong tool for winter ice removal
This sidewalk and ice chopper by Bully tools is well constructed and sturdy for winter ice removal. We are now prepared this year for the ice that tends to be at the base of our driveway after the snow plow does our street. We have had a great deal of trouble trying to get that ice away, after the plow comes by during the Michigan winter snow storms. This tool is perfect for chopping up the rock hard ice. The tool is 100 percent American made and has a limited warranty offered by Bully. The black handle is rubberized and very comfortable. The blade itself is 6 inches wide and the tool is 57 inches tall. The length of this tool is perfect for my taller husband, who is 6 feet 4 inches. This is a sturdy tool and should not bend when using on hard ice chunks. We have had a great deal of issues with ice in the past few winters, so are very happy to have this product ahead of the game. I would highly recommend this product based on the size, strength and construction alone.

So far I am very pleased. The only thing that I would like to see is longer handle & a little more weight. The tool is well made & sturdy. The welds are excellent. The tool should last a life time. I am glad to see that is made in America. Another example of American ingenuity. Way to go Bully, keep up the good work!

Hefty ice chopper needs a good operator
This ice chopper offers a 1 1/2" wooden shaft, a heavy-duty handle, and a sharpened steel blade. For most people with some strength, this device can take care of thick ice in a hurry. I like it a lot, but some people may prefer a lighter device. This is a serious tool and should be kept away from children. It even recommends operating with safety googles.

I live on Florida. Even though it is called a sidewalk and ice chopper, I used it to chop barnacles and oysters off of my boat lift and dock pylons. Worked perfectly, solid handle and blade.

This ice chopper exceeded my expectations for chopping ice. It’s the correct weight for me to deliver chopping power and it’s width is adequate to make headway along the iced pathway. I’m happy it’s not a lightweight tool nor one that’s too heavy to wield. I’d buy again.
