Questions & Answers

Can this took be used to scrap off paint off wood floor when using stripping liquid to lift up top layer?

Asked by: KKaye
No.. I wouldn't recommend it for that purpose. The blade isn't that thin for that purpose. If you were removing the Hardwood floors, it would be perfect.

Is this tool capable of removing black tile mastic glue off of concrete floor?

Asked by: Steve
You do NOT want to mess with the old black glue ,which was called Cut -Back adhesive. It never dries and as a flooring installer I always skim patch over that specific floor glue that is under various types of vinyl tiles . The very old cut back glue had trace amounts of asbestos in it and so did the old 9x9 tiles you find in old farm houses and buildings. Industry standard is to patch over that glue on concrete its only dangerous when you scrape it or when in- experienced DIY guys try flat troweling new adhesive over it which is also a no no.. because it causes the cut back adhesive to retain its properties and ooze through the crack of any flooring laid over it. Skim patch it until its very smooth and level than install as new concrete.

prepping to paint outdoor deck floor

I need to remove old paint from outdoor deck floor. So far, I have been kneeling down and using a small scraper to remove loose old paint. I was hoping to be able to have a long handle floor scraper remove old lose paint without having to kneel down to remove the old paint.
Asked by: nappy
No. The blade is made more for Demo purposes, removing flooring. The head has a bit of weight and would be great at Raming against hardwood or ceramic tile but it's not razor sharp to be used as a scraper

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid tool; does what it's supposed to. A slightly thinner chiseled edge would probably make this tool a bit more effective for scraping staples out of a subfloor, but for tile removal, it works very well. It's very solid, and I haven't been worried that it's going to break on me, which is a plus in this world of cheaply made garbage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tool For The Job Unlike the other reviewer, I had a commercial tile floor that this worked perfectly for. All I had to do was heat the glue underneath with a heat gun and the tile came up easily. I love the durability and heftiness of this product and would recommend it to anyone taking out a tile floor.

I didn’t expect it to be easy, but this saved me hours of work. I had expected to remove all of the ceiling texture, then do a new knock down. This knocked stipple off and looked like knock down!

The other 10 percent I had to use a narrower blade to remove. I used no adhesive remover beforehand, it probably would have gotten them all if I had. This is a very solid, well made product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a must have tool Can't say TOO much about a floor scraper, but the name Floor Bully is pretty accurate. Bought it to prep the kitchen floor of son's house. Pulled up old linoleum, but the paper backing and glue remained on the plywood subfloor and not enough room to add even more wood. So, he used the heat gun and I pushed this heavy duty scraper and we got it cleaned pretty quickly. There is no other way to do this job other than hard work. The label also notes it can be used as an ice chopper. It is very sturdy and should help with chunks of ice in the driveway next winter. One bit of advice is to use a heavy glove, as I quickly got a big blister in the palm of my hand. PS floor is done and looks beautiful and this tool is a keeper.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Durable I purchased this to remove glued down sheet vinyl. The floor scraper flexes when applying any upward pressure on the handle which makes it next to useless. It did work for some flooring staples,
